Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Love it. The only thing i hate about this boat is when i got it it had 0 pole holders. I had to put 2 on the sides and 2 in the back that double as drink holder, bbq grill mount. Also use a bad ass cup sucker to jold my jackView attachment 104221
Those things are the best. Bought a couple for the wife’s wine bottles. I’m a beer guy, so I bought a toadfish which does the same things for cans

If they're the same as a 97, you just need to find the wipers with the correct adapter in the box. Nothing special. Not marine specific, but I did get the kind that are wrapped in a rubber membrane for snow etc. I grabbed some at Wallyworld.
Hey Hawk, I looked at mine today and they are shot, I work for AutoZone part time as a driver. I looked at the clip so I think I’ll be able to match it up. I’ll let you know tomorrow.

Hey group, I’m missing the table that turns the forward sitting area into a berth, I have the round table but it doesn’t seem big enough to support the most aft filler cushion. I would appreciate if someone could take a picture and shoot me some measurements so I can make one. I’m also missing the short pole for support if anyone is close and has an extra I’ll buy it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks girlygirl. I had my local vinyl guy make that all for me. If ya look i had the water line, name, fancy scrolls and sundancer made to all match. Had to get rid of all the gold on the boat. Makes such a difference and super happy with it.

ours has a factory made insert, not a ‘table’ to convert the fwd area into a Vberth. The insert is stowed in the factory brackets under the stbd aft cushion in the fwd sofa group. I guess you would have found it by now if it was there in which case this won’t help . I’ll take some pics when I get down there in the next few days.

Mine are 18". It's called a "Bayonet" clip.

Thanks Pilot290, I’ll look again but I don’t think it’s there, that is where I found the round table.

Too bad. Would have been a perfect day to test them out... ;)

So I could not find a replacement blade with that clip. I’m going to try and pull an inexpensive one apart and see if I can get the blade to slide in our hardware.

I found mine at Wally World. Not all the brands had the one with the adapter.

Here is a Rainex Bayonet in a video.

Having read ALL the posts in this great thread plus all those in the ‘newer’ 290 thread before I started posting I know I’ve seen the answer to this, but damned if I can find it.
MID CABIN water leak.
I have small, occasional water ingress to the mid cabin which seems to come from outboard port side down to the mid cabin floor. I’m gonna do a hose test now the winter covers are off and the a canvas is back up, but wondered if anyone can identify likely ‘culprit areas’ or refer me to the older posts .
I’m thinking arch seal? Deck fitting/ grab rail screws? Or in under the canvass and down the back of the cockpit port side seat backrest?

somewhere in this thread I think I detailed it but I took the entire mid cabin apart on our old boat to find the port light window to be leaking. It leaks into the foam backed vinyl wall covering, streams down the wall behind the closet, and eventually onto the carpet. I rebed all the Windows and bow stanchions and never had another drop of water

Thanks, I’ll see where I get with the targeted hose test then probably have to go the same way. More pressing problem today. The Bravo II gear oil vent screws are seized on both units back tomorrow with a bigger screwdriver.

Big blade screwdriver, or one of those hammer impact screwdrivers is even better
