Official 330/350 (2008 and newer) Thread

We just purchased a 2008 330 and can't wait for spring! It is currently shrink-wrapped and and few hours from my house. I'm trying to order a new name decal but can't determine the proper dimensions. Does anyone know the width of the rumble seat? I've looked everywhere online. Thanks.

I just crawled into mine to measure for you. 44" wide by 9" tall from the top of the hinges to the stainless steel handle. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Congrats and good luck!

Is anyone familiar with the NMEA0183 setup on the 330? There is a cable plugged into the NMEA port on the back of the Raymarine C80, but I am having trouble figuring out where it goes. I assume it connects to some form of an NMEA bridge...

If anyone is interested...I figured how the electronics are wired, and installed an Actisense NMEA bridge with USB running to my laptop.

I pulled all the components out, and figured out the NMEA wiring, and then integrated the Actisense. I also replaced the Northstar with a Simrad RS-35 with AIS.

I have a Powerpoint slide with all the wiring details - send me a message with your contact info and I will share it with you.

Something for all owners with engines/year close to my 350.
Over the winter our boat was on land at our dealer for some work. One of the things I asked them to do was change our spark plugs. I didn't really want to do it because a few of them require the exhaust risers to be removed.

Anyways our tech found the tops of some of the plugs all black. Upon investigating he found our fuel pump was the issue. Mercury used to paint them black inside and th fuel peels away the paint. The paint residue had clogged our fuel lines and our pressure was very high.

Our dealer told us Mercury had recently become aware of the issue and would pay for the parts. Two new fuel pumps, new fuel lines, etc. Mercury also covered the cost of our labor. $3000 total! All we paid was the original cost for the spark plug replacement.

Mercury changed their fuel pumps shortly after our model year, but I'm sure there are others out there with the same issue.

Yesterday I Brought our boat back to DC. I got the best fuel burn we've ever had. 3/4 full in each tank, I got just under .8 miles per gallon. We normally get .7 if we're lucky on a calm day.

Did they tell you any service bulletin number or anything?

I was not given a service bulletin. The tech, who has worked on my boat for years, said when he found the problem they contacted Mercury and that Mercury was already aware of the issue. My guess would be reach out to SeaRay or Mercury and see if there is a service bulletin.

Also, my dealer told me Mercury has been covering the cost of parts, but in my case also covered the labor.

Interesting, I'll have to look into this. I haven't had the issue, and I changed my plugs last season, other than normal wear they looked fine. But'll be good to know and keep my eye on. Thanks for the info.

It sounds like they changed fuel pumps mid-model year, but who knows. Always good to know about potential issues.

2008 330 5 Front Eisenglass Panels for Sale $100 Plus Shipping- Used less than a month

I have 5 replacement panels that were used on my boat for less than a month. I bought the boat in August 2009 and the original eisenglass that came with the boat was very scratched up probably from being a boat show boat. The dealer ordered me new panels which arrived a few weeks before the new $3500 Stratoglass panels and Camper Back that I had made was installed. The 5 Eisenglass panels have been sitting in my store room since October 2009. I recently traded in my 330 for a 2014 Regal 42 Sport Coupe but forgot I had these panels until today. If you are interested in them they are slightly scuffed and dusty from storage but overall in excellent shape. You can contact me at johnburgess123@gmail.com.

Will miss the friends from this Forum. Unfortunately there are not too many members of the Regal Forum that have the larger boats. John

Hey John, sent you an e-mail.

I know what you mean about the Regal site. Before I bought my first boat I was really on the fence between the Sea Ray and Regal boat... both had things I liked, so I joined both forums to ask questions and research. Seems like here I click the "new posts" button and I get 3 or 4 pages of results. On the Regal site I'd only get 3 or 4 posts. Much less activity over there. Good luck with the 42, that really is a nice boat.

So my friend has two aft curtains that he is looking to sell. They are from a 2008 350DA. One is black and is brand new (he ordered blue but they sent him black). The other one is blue and is in great shape. It didn't get used much as he keeps his camper up all the time so no need for the aft curtain.

Just throwing out a feeler here to see if anyone would be interested before going the e-bay, craigslist route. I can get pics and such if anyone is interested.

Can you send some pics? or PM me. I'd like to see specifically the parts that your friend has.
My guess is any canvas from an '08 350 won't fit a 2010 350. (since it's a 370)

Sure, will do. But I think you're right that 2010 350 is more in line with my 2009 330. The 2008/09 350 is the later MY 370. In fact aside from the name on the rumble seat, I'd think your boat (sig pic) was mine... exact same layout right down to the Sat TV antenna.

John, congrats to you! I hope we cross paths this summer, so I can see your beautiful new boat.

Alright... My first post!

we are about a year from purchasing a new 350. Dealer is happy to answer questions, but from car experience over the years, I trust my forum comrades more.... And I find a new question every day! Here are a few if any one gets a chance to chime in:

The Sea Ray website builder lists a $2667 option called "windshield with stainless steel frame". Any idea what that means a la what does it come with if you don't check that box?

Since our budget won't allow for EVERY option, would you suggest Axius & extended swim platform or go with standard power, thrusters, and buy the hydraulic platform?

Is the rear bed room referred to a mid-berth by Sea Ray? Like the mid-berth TV or mid-berth L-shaped seating... They mean the rear area under the stairs? Why not call that the rear berth?

Current cockpit design options are mocha v white. Any suggestions? Or pics?

Digital dash seems the way to go on a new (expensive) boat, but would you also pay $3k for radar? Is this radar for other boats? Or weather? Or both....?

There is a $1025 option for "gel coated dash"? What is that? Do we need it?

If we don't spend the $8167 on "premium" sound what do we get? No stereo? A crappy one?

I see 20 year notes advertised for boat loans. In your experience are these realistic? So many people do 10% down and get a 20 year loan? Or is it bait to get your application in, only to offer something different? Any forum preferred lenders?

I've read about boat loan interest being a deduction similar to a home loan if the boat has bathroom/kitchen/bed. Has anyone explored this?

thanks again, will be more... Happy to be a member!

Ok to answer this mans opinion on your many questions-
get the stainless frame it looks 1000% better than the stock grey aluminum
it is the one option the previous owner didn't get and I hate it. So worth it.

axius is nice but v drive is better, less maintenance and no computer to deal with
if you do want stern drive then it's weather you feel you can rock effectively without a joystick
me personally wouldn't buy it with stern drive but if I had to would get axius just for resale and I like gadgets,

platform is is personal preference - I don't like the look of extended platforms but the hydraulic is worth it only if you will have a dinghy a lot .

i believe it's called mid berth because overall it's in the middle of the boat not the cabin...
Mocha is trendy but is very dark and heats up quick... Something to think about
radar is great but if you have a brand preference (I love garmin) I would add it after
but if you like raymarine then get it

stereo- you get what you pay for, speakers can always be updated/upgraded
same with stereo but if it already has amps wired and run that's a bonus

boat loans are great but depends on how long you will keep it
i have seen so many people get upside down on there boats and can't sell them
- they end up having 60k left on a boat that is only worth 40k try selling a boat and
then paying 20k ...

Hope this helps and I repeat this is only one mans opinion good luck
