Official 370 Sundancer thread

Hi there all you 370 DA owners. If you have a mid 90's 370 and are in need of one or both of the aft corner bildge exhaust vent covers message me. I have a source of a guy making fiberglass ones. $275 each or the pair for $400

Hi everyone, not new to this thread but have taken a 4 year break from owning a 95 370 and just bought a 96. I am scrambling to get the boat shipped and hoping someone knows the height difference between the 96 and the 97-99 when the arch was raised? The schematics on 370sundancer.com is for the taller arch so I assume the 95-96 isn’t as tall? Thanks.

I was under the impression that the arch height didn't change until 98 for the 98-99.
Sea Ray will know for sure.

I was also under the impression the arch didn't change until 1998

Has anyone converted from block only cooling to full closed cooling on the 454 horizon? Does not seems to be a 100% kit available so looking to make one myself. I see a lot of L29 and v drive but not magnum compatible any reason for this?

These can't be too much hp to cool right? Think the 5 1/8" x 22" exchanger change the thermostat housing and get the hoses/ fittings needed.

Would be nice to worry less due to hot manifolds burning off the condensation inside.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding but you have saltwater in your manifolds currently?

My 454's run engine coolant through manifolds and my risers are stainless steel.

Actually on this topic, I get some steam coming out of my starboard exhaust from time to time. Where is that steam coming from and what causes it (if anyone knows) its not coolant. It's condensation.

Bottom Blasting

So I've owned my 370 now long enough that it is probably time to get the bottom blasted and strip off the old bottom paint. Since I've had Rubber Duckee, I've only used ablative paint, so most of it wears off every year with use, but not all of it. No final decision yet, but it will occur soon. Have others done this and what process have you followed for putting new paint on? Do I need an epoxy barrier coat? Experiences - good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!

I just did mine... Enormous job.

Went with 5 coats of interprotect 2000e and two coats of micron CSC

Here is a couple short videos of the led lighting system I put in my 1995DA

Two stage/independent upper and lower levels all RGB Bluetooth and wifi controlled plus I have physical buttons to control them hidden in cabinet to right of old tv position above couch. I wired them into the normal lighting circuit that the stair lights use so that switch on the wall controls them.

I had to run over 200 feet of wiring. I ran wiring across the ceiling through the drop down lights and even into the bathroom. Took me about 30 hours.
I also put two rgb projection lights up where the old tube lighting was in the ceiling

If anyone wants information in regards to this project I am happy to share or give guidance.

I also have a real bird problem at my marina. Seagulls eat and shit on my roof constantly.

This is the anti bird system I designed for about 150$ of parts. Birds don't come anywhere near my boat anymore.

Two thermal motion sensors on a tower that quick releases hooked up to a Solenoid that controls a valve to the sprinkler system.

Care to share a parts list??? Sounds awesome!!

I believe the 98 has 6 inches more headroom at the arch, should have just called me.

Yup Exactly, this is how they were designed after the early 90's. Horizons have block only closed cooling. I want to convert to cooled manifolds and need to make sure I get the right stuff.

did you convert your 454's or they came this way? what year is the boat? Merc switched over to save money at some point and this is actually part of the reason we can have condensation issues and need turbulator plates.

Mine is a 1995 and its stock. Gen v mercruiser 7.4 litre. They only make 310 hp. Sometimes I swear I can't even get up on plane.

What year is yours?

Saltwater in the manifolds is a bitch I can see why you want to switch. Without regular manifold replacements every 5-8 years that's a time bomb waiting to happen. It could also be that the HO engines produce too much heat for the size of the heat exchanger?

I still can't figure out what is causing the condensation out of my starboard exhaust. I did my manifolds port side this year due to some pretty bad surface corrosion I had from a leaking riser gasket and it runs at a cool 160 degrees and no condensation on that side.

One thing I cannot recommend enough is getting your salon cabinets wrapped in the new 3m di-noc vinyl.

Best money I ever spent on her. Totally changed the interior and it feels like a brand new boat.

The 370Da has such a good sized and fairly well laid out interior for its class. It's just a bit dated with the white melamine. I have friends in my marina with 40 foot boats 15 years newer who are green with envy.

This is the exact product we went with. It compliments the other colors so well. The greys and browns match perfectly with the walls and roof.

If you are really handy you could do it yourself for around 1000$.

Yeah, didn't happen without pictures. :)

Does anyone know how the lower room under the cockpit turns into a bed? What cushion goes into the U shaped section? Haven't been able to figure that out.
