Ohio train derailment

That's because, unlike eastern Ohio, nobody in Ukraine voted for Trump...

Biden denied FEMA assistance until Trump said he was coming here. Hard to believe Biden hasn't come here yet. But then again, they aren't his voters.

Side note...I have an Under Armor shirt with a vertical flag on the back that says FREEDOM. I was at a restaurant right near the train crash called The Original Roadhouse and a guy came up behind me and asked where I got the shirt. Wife said she ordered it online. He asked if I was part of the movement. I said 'huh?'. He said nevermind and walked away. This was a month or 2 before Jan 6th so wonder if he was referring to that...lol

Simple enough, the railroad merely needs to get yall some carbon filters. Problem solved!

I bet some of you guys got this email from Fresh Water Systems today too :)

Your lack of information but trying to make a point is the kind of speculation and hear say that fuels the great conspiracy machine we call the internet on a daily basis.
Not sure what you are trying to stir up but this was my post. As I said, I did not know whether it was Secret Service or a business decision. I just mentioned the fact that his company was on lockdown. No opinions were given

"lol. I don't know if it was his company that locked them down or the Secret Service or what the deal was. Not sure exactly where his building is in relation to the site. I know he lives 3 blocks from the site and works right near there. Dunno the name of the company he works for but it is a foundry"

Went past the rode the incident happened on and it is still closed. Big signs posted. Didn't notice if there were roadblocks up or not. I was driving up 51 headed into Ohio (51 turns into 14 at the line). E. Taggart Road turns left off of 51 and Leake Oil is maybe 1 mile down that road on the right. The crash happened right behind Leake Oil

It's like that massive oil rig leak we had a number of years back in the gulf. And just like that, the biggest most devastating, most alarming man-made disaster turns out to be fully manageable and survivable...

@boatman37 It's been a year, how are things looking in your neighborhood?
I went down E Taggart Rd a few weeks ago. They opened it back up about a week before that so it was closed for about 11 months. The gas station it happened behind is called Leake Oil. I used to get gas there cause its about .80/gallon cheaper in Ohio but the gas station is still closed and there are barricades up in front so you can't even get on the property. There is a bar next door that is also closed. Not sure of any other businesses that were closed though. There were 4 Safety Team trucks that were sitting at the entrances with their orange lights flashing and guys sitting in them so nobody could get back there to the site. Its a lower income area and some have moved away but most can't afford to so they are still there. Across the road from Leake Oil are a couple of areas with plastic tarps spread across the ground with mounds of dirt piled on top of them. Guessing that is contaminated dirt but not sure. Don't know why else it would be sitting there. There are also a bunch of roll off boxes there beside the piles.

That sucks, it sounds like the place is still a wreck and nobody is in any hurry to clean it up.

Pretty sure contaminated soil has to stay on site for a certain period of time.

Contaminated soil needs to be characterized through lab analysis, then a disposal or recycling location needs to be identified, then transportation permits have to be obtained. Then you can start to get bids from subcontractors transportation (and sometimes disposal). Only then can you load and transport the soil/waste.

The roll-offs may contain some more highly contaminated material/soil, which has to be more rigorously characterized, and often no one wants it.

It’s not a quick process. In NJ it sometimes took 2 years to get 10 cubic yards of lightly contaminated soil removed from a gas station.

They had already started hauling some away. They were taking a little here and a little there so it's getting spread around the country.

Not sure when I'll be over there next but I'll try to get pics. It would have been on my dashcam but I know it has been overwritten by now. My mother lives 4 miles from there but she is on the PA side.
