Many, mostly old farts, remain under the false impression that once boosted they’re safe and that they can’t catch the vyyyyrus. We all know this is false but you’d be surprised how many sheep still believe this. So they wonder around spreading because they all have it (see Omicron) and give it to all their shuffleboard friends, golf buddies, and dock neighbors.
My wife works at Cleveland Clinic. She still, to this day, has to explain to old farts on a daily basis that they can still get it AND spread it. To a person they all are shocked in disbelief.

I feel terrible for your loss. This is a horrid plague dumped on humanity. It affects people differently and comorbidity is not the only reason people are dying. Again, I’m sorry.
 
You want to know another reason why COVID continues to spread? I was just told this story.
Some of my wife's family decided to do a vacation to Mexico for a week. A few started to feel ill near the end of the week and knew they needed a COVID test to fly home, so they got tested at a local pharmacy down there. Well, of course they all tested positive. But for US$5 more each, they were offered a negative test.

Thanks, but it had nothing to do with Covid. He was sufffering from Parkinsons, couldn't swallow and used a feeding tube. Was in assited living -- and basically locked in there for a year. Finally got to see people in person the past 6-8 months when they opened the homes. He was doing well, hanging out with my cousin and her kids, and then it just hit and he went downhill. He always said "nobody gets out alive."

A "proven vaccine?" You must be joking. All it apparently does is lower your risk of serious illness, a risk that was already low for the vast majority of people.

I have taught my wife and children to take care of themselves, and live healthy lives. I worry about them for a million other things, just not this.

You, a perfect example of a sheep, just cannot fathom that there are folks capable of making decisions for themselves without the government’s help. You then assume others are as incapable as you yourself and try to force your needs on those that have no need for it.

The asinine political reasoning is blindly following what the official government tells you to do without thinking…

Imagine getting the "proven" vaccine and then getting COVID 2 months later. I don't have to imagine it because that's what happened to me. I believed the hype that the vax would keep me from getting sick. When I tested positive it was a rude awakening. So I don't buy the bullshit propaganda any more. My prerogative and nobody else's business. When I had to go to the ER in June (2nd degree burns on my feet from our dock) they made everyone wear masks, and they knew we were vaxed. In a room full of nurses (no one had seen my particular injuries before), and one doctor, I joked to my wife that we have to wear masks even after getting vaxed and said "shows you what the medical community thinks of the vax". We laughed, none of the medical people even cracked a smile. That's when I got my first inkling that the vax doesn't work.

My only side in this debate is do what's best for you. Talk to your doctor, and then mind your own f'ing business. I got vaxxed because my Mom is 86 and my wife has type 1 diabetes and NO other reasons. My Mom would die if I left her alone for a year to "protect" her. Turns out the vax doesn't protect her either. Go figure.
 
Look what happened to fully vaccinated Colin Powell. My wife cried when he died. I’m not saying don’t get the Covid serum, just don’t force everyone to get it, or ostracize them from society if they don’t for reasons which are none of your business.

Proven vaccine!? Asinine political reasoning and conspiracy beliefs?! The only conspiracy is the vax is on the up and up (and the 2020 election was on the up and up as well!). You may want to do your research - there is a reason big tech is trying to squash all dissenting voices who are providing treatment methods that work, outside of the vax.

Risking my wife's and children's future would be taking the vax. What happens if I get an adverse affect from the vax or myocarditis? Who is financially liable - not Pfizer!! Not sure about you @Dani-Lu, but my family is a year from being 100% debt free, aside from the boat. Plenty of life insurance, so where is the risk of their future? I do not need others to worry about me!

My four year old brought it home from daycare - I did not catch it in all my travels over the past two years (mask free, vax free and test free). Technically, I never 'tested' positive for the vid - I saw no need to take a test and can't understand all these idiots constantly testing. You can test negative today, yet be sick two days later...

I'd much rather trust my God given immune system, than a "vax". BTW, my immune system did great against the vid and the pneumonia. Big pharma / medical science is failing society as a whole with this. Almost two years in and their solution is the jab, the jab, the jab. Which has proven not to prevent covid or even death! Thankfully Independent Doctors are speaking out and have early treatments available among other things. Treatments which did well for me and others I know.

It's a shame many are like you and scared of a virus with a 99%+ survival rate, feeling need to get multiple jabs, stay masked up and test often and you still don't feel safe...

The tests are BS. My wife tested negative on a Wednesday evening, before a big event she was attending. Saturday at the event she had a fever, Sunday at home she was positive. The tests are only accurate for that 'moment in time', you can test positive later that same day as your viral load increases.

There is a market for everything. Mandate negative tests or mandate the jab...people will find ways around it!

A co-worker went to a concert in Chicago not long ago. To enter, there were a two entry lines - show your vaccine passport or a negative rapid test. They tested positive on the rapid test so they simply went to the back of the vaccine passport line, showed they had the vaxx and got in. All in the name of 'science'!

Reduce your comorbidities and live a healthier life! We were walking out of the grocery store yesterday and I saw someone walking in, pulling down their mask to take a hit of their cigarette. I so wanted to tell them, quitting smoking will do more for you against covid than that damn mask...

I'm booking transient slips for our first few trips of this season and truly hope you all get out and live your lives, unafraid of covid...

Yes they voted for Trump I expect. They are life time Florida Republicans. Great family. Just religious enough. Hunters, fisherman, gun owners. Both parents are nurses. Their father is a nurse in a cardiac ward and the mother is a general nurse (now retired though). The children (adults actually - all are now professionals or business owners) did a reunion trip, which is why they went to Mexico.

When Florida COVID cases were going crazy last year, we asked how he was doing in at work in the hospital. His ward obviously takes care of people with significant heart issues, and there was a lot of concern last year about where things were going. They actually followed health care guidance and wore masks. He said that they had some patients that would refuse to wear masks. He told them they were not making a good decision and that they needed all the protection they could get.

Last summer we asked them if they were vaccinated and I quote:
"Of course we are. We're Republicans, we're not idiots".

With stupidity like this its no wonder this disease is still around. Why the fck would someone be so self centered to got to a concert when they know they have COVID?
