Ok my main ? is i got the 350 chevy is the entire engine cooled by the saltwater i cruise in? Also whats the best place for parts on a sea ray this old? Ok the tube that is on the starbord side of the motor under the manifold that the main water lines run through and 2 looks like hydralic lines through it what is this for and what do you call it? Thank you for help tryin to restore the entire engine already got new motor, manifolds, exhaust risers, and carb.

On the cooling, could be but can't tell from the description, it probablly is raw water cooled unless you have a heat exchanger. This will be a can like device with a radiator pressure cap on it and plumbed into the cooling system. The tube thing is a power steering oil cooler. For parts, you'll find that most things were made by other compainies, ie pumps by Rule, windshields by Taylor, electrical stuff by Perko etc. There are other companies that make the things I mentioned, I just used those as examples. Ask on the forum and people will give you ideas where to source various parts. Internet searches are also good for finding parts.

Ya I figured out that was the power steering cooler and noticed after lookiin more it is raw water cooled now I got new motor, heads, manifolds, and also exhaust risers would you suggest putting a fresh water cooling system on it before I even put it in the water cause they are 850 dollars but I got all new engine bay and I would be able to run antifreeze through it instead of salf water what's your opinion on this or could I run this season without it and get it next year

Ok forgot one thing by lookin at the pic I got up what model do I have it looks like a weekender

Anybody know if there is a second bilge pump on a 76 Sea Ray 22' cuddy cabin? I have one that I hooked up in the engine compartment but I would think that there has got to be a second one somewhere in front. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Nice I see my thread got hijacked if you need to ask questions about your boat it would be best to create your own thread

If y0ou are going to put fresh water cooling on it do it BEFORE it goes in salt water. The scale and rust that will form this year will dirve you nuts cleaning the heat exchanger next year. I've also heard the salt residue reacts with the ethlyneglycol to form a gel like material that will also clog the exchanger. I'd put the FWC kit in now and have years of trouble free boating ahead.

Looks like she could be but hard to tell without knowing the floor plan. Does it have a head and galley or just a cuddy berth? What happened to your swim platform?

You have old Mopars?

Well its got one of those triangle style beds in it with shelves all the way around. And a toilet. The swim platform was off when I got it. I have a friend that's gonna rebuff the boat for me and put in a new platform and new led lights. Got another one for ya and thanks for everyones help I'm new to owning a boat and I'm very anal that everything is done right. On my 77 350 what should the spark plugs be gapped at?

Well glad I pulled the head off the motor. The guy that had it befor put in a new long block and I was changing the starboard manifold and giving it a tune up and broke a spark plug that was rusted. Pulled the head and noticed the back valve was a little pitted. I think the head gasket was blown and leakin in some salt water so I'm gonna pull the other head and just replace both head gaskets to be on the safe side its a 350 so its not hard. Still wonderin what the plugs should be gapped at?

Sorry what is the cfm the stock carbs thinkin I should put on a new one?

Try .035 for plug gap. Do you have Q-jet carbs? I think they are rated for like 650-750cfm, but a small block can't use the full flow capacity of a quadrajet.

Thats the v-berth. Is the head in the wide part of the "V" or in its own seperate locker?

No gally and no head locker would make yours a Cuddy Cabin I think. Somebody else may chime in with an opinion? Is there a cooler and wine/storage box on the passenger side of the helm?

KRB64 is right however you can verify just by simply viewing the HIN (hull identification number) it will start with a SER with a series of numbers with 77 bein the year followed by 240CC, seeing if it is indeed a cuddy cabin, this number is just below the rub rail on the starboard side.

Thanks all for your help I figured I was gonna try .035 on the gap cause both my trucks have a 350 in it and that's what I set them at. I was thinkin it was a cuddy cabin but from all the 24' cuddy cabins of my year don't seam so big and they don't have the small side windows in the cabin. Took my heads to the machine shop and to clean, magnaflux, vacuum test, and check trueness only $20. What a steal that is.

Thanks matt you were right it has a 240cc. I guess makin it indeed a cuddy. Does anyone know what a boat like mine new back then?

lets see of pictures of your barge, my buddy is bringing the exact boat back to life and the boat has a ton of room to move about but as for the cuddy its the same size as my cuddy on my 200, his has the 2 small windows on each side of the hull so you lost me when you say yours dont have the 2 small cabin windows, as for your avatar picture you have beside your name if that is your boat I see 2 small windows on each side of your barge. But as far as the boat goes I think its a hell of a boat. But yeh I'm with KBR where is these pictures?

No I said mine has the two small windows I have just seen some that people call cuddy cabins that don't have the windows. The interior is takin apart right now cause I'm restoring the engine bay and the guages. my heads are getting redone now cause its got a new motor but the guy that had it before me did not watch it good and the gasket blew on the intake riser and leaked down into the #8 cylinder the cylinder was fine but the valves were bad only pulled 15 on the vacuum and should be around 23. Any one know where is the best place to get a fresh water cooling system from since I'm getting all this stuff done I want to run antifreeze through it instead of salt water.

I got mine from boat bandit, on line. After shopping around it was the least expensive for the sanjuan engineering system I wanted.
