questions about my 77 sea ray

ok on my 1977 350 merc what would be the model of the engine.

That would be the model - mcm260. The out drive would be a Merc I if original.

It all depends on carb. 2bbl I think is a 188hp & 4bbl is a 260 hp...

For some reason I thought the 188 was the six cylinder? Didn't realize or think about different carbs...

Taxing my memory, maybe the 302 ford 2bbl was the 188 and the 350 2bbl was the 198 (898). The 6cyl. was 165 hp.

Sorry,I think Bam needs to not be printing that. Check out what they have listed for 260.

Mine is the 260 I know that for sure and its got a 4 barrel on it but mine is 300hp now we took the block .30 and a little bigger cam milled the heads and used the thinner head gaskets to get a little more compression out of it. Just got to get it put back together only thing been holding me back is the fact that's its 100 degrees outside and I'm a diesel mechanic and I got to work in the 100 degree heat so after 10 hours of work I don't have the ambition to go out in the heat and work on my boat. Kinda sucks but this way I'm not in a hurry and I'm gonna do everything right.

had my local o reilly auto parts store order the come to find out they have a marine division. They were 100 just for the head gaskets but supposed to hold up better and thinner.
