Real candles on Boat

Just ask him for is insurance carrier ... who to file the claim with when he burns the marina down.

We'll have a tea light candle or two on the cockpit table with company, but that's it!

The next time you see the candles get out the fire hose and put them out
then notify the marina of the fire hazard in your marina. Notify Hazmet to be on standy-by to install rubbers around the slick.
Notify the Fire Dept to be on the safe side
and PUT A BIG SIGN IN FRONT OF THE DORKS BOAT
Marshmellow Roast Tonite, come early

I don't see anything wrong with it if you're monitoring it and close by. I wouldn't consider it wise otherwise. There are so many ways to blow up your boat. If you truly ruled out all scenarios you would live in a padded cell.

My wife is big on burning candles at home. A few months ago we were sitting in cabin and she pulled out a candle. I pointed to the bulkhead and said behind that wall is 250 gallons of gas. That was all I had to say. Haven't seen a candle on the boat since.

That what the last corpse said before he died too.

Here is an option for those that like candles... We like to burn candles at home but will not use them on the boat. Of course we have them for when we are away for a trip - we use them away from the boat especially to keep away bugs.

To address not using them on the boat we picked up these Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffusers. They allow my wife to mist all types of scents. I must admit that it has a really cool LED light system and works great with Citronella (Essential Oils) to fight the mosquitoes - all without a flame.
