Reality TV Show "Below Deck"

well let's see...the crew are prima donnas....the guests are a bunch of entitled rich folks who belittle people....yeah...it's a GREAT show

typical reality drama show

I read that in season 1, every member of the cast was an actor except the captain. That ruined it for me. (Sorry if I ruined it for anyone else...)

Our "rabbit ears" don't get that channel.

We've watched the 1 season and watching this season as well. We like the show. Sorry to hear they're all actors, but it's still entertaining show.

From someone who has been in the Film/TV for the past 25 years that is hardly surprising. I would bet my next months salary that the captain is now an "actor". SAG has to have gotten their grips into him by now. All for a couple of percent of your work and a couple of thousand a year you get what is the Cadillac of health plans, a pension, and a brokerage fund paid into by the show. With the exception of the health plan, it's all horse s$!t.

That said, I do enjoy the show--who doesn't like something about boating?

Forgot to mention--these Unions cost way into the 5 figures to have the privilege to join.

I thought the whole open "secret" was that "reality" TV was cheap for networks because they didn't have union actors. The cynic in me is not surprised they script and hire actors...

I'm waiting for the boat buying or selling show on whatever channel. There are so many of these shows out there but no one has tapped into the boating community as yet (aside from "Below Deck"). So there is "Buying the Bayou", "Buying Alaska", "Buying the Beach". I even watching a show last night about buying "RV". I think a boat buying, selling or just a boating in general show would be great. I think I need to make a pitch to one of these networks
