Replacing Salon Carpet

I found a local installer but they only do snap in. I may just have them replace the existing snap on carpet cover with it.

IMO this is a great idea....that way you can remove the new carpet for a 'deep cleaning' as needed while lying on the dock......although I am not sure how the woven vinyl would feel under foot if installed on top of the existing carpet....that may be too much cushion......

I installed a woven vinyl covering from Corinthian in my cockpit and really like it.....

The local installer said they would do it with the product with only a 1/16" backing so as to not have too much cushion.

I believe Quint installed the Infinity product as a carpet cover in his boat. You should be able to pull up a search & find it or PM him.

I removed my carpet and installed Infinity directly over the sub floor. I painted the wood floor with grey floor paint and snapped the Infinity over top. I glued the Infinity to the steps.

I have also recently sold Infinity "Runners" that lay on top of carpet like the Sunbrella runners that come with your boat. This started as an experiment of sorts after a customer request. It feels great underfoot when over the low, tight weave carpet. May not work so well with the thicker carpets.

One must be diligent about moisture getting between the Infinity and the carpet if you go this route.

Here are a few picks of the full carpet removal method and Infinity install on my boat:

Not too bad to remove but hundreds of staples (I have a Silverton).

I also hear Sea Ray is staple heavy. The floor was marine plywood underneath as seen in photos.

The carpet in our Sea Ray was glued down.
