RUDDER PACKING NUT SIZE

Anyone know the actual wrench size needed for rudder packing nut on a 2002 310 with 1 1/2 rudder posts.
Please don't tell me to use a pipe wrench .
I want to know the actual wrench size.

On my 340, they are 2 7/8. I had two wrenches custom fabricated.

yes, I had to file it ever so slightly to fit my nut, so your 7/8 might be correct.
