Well, I know its still a little early to get the boat out, however, the Saginaw Bay has been absolutely on fire for walleyes this winter.

Every trip on the ice has produced a limit of walleyes this year in pretty much all depths of water.

Last night, I landed my biggest ever at 10.25lbs, 28 inches long!!

It was finally warm enough to take my boys yesterday and my middle boy got his biggest through the ice. The boys were in the one pop-up shanty and I was separate in my one-man shanty. This is what I heard when he hooked this fish:

""OOOOHHH, holy crap! HEY It's a WALLEYE.....ooohhh!!! GOT HIM! DAD...DAD! ITS A WALLEYE! AWESOME!!!! He's on the ice!!

Great pic's, Any day spent fishing with your kids is a great day! Looks like you had good luck!

What a lunker! Those walleyes are good eating.

Darn right they are good eating! Fried walleye dinner tonight!

That big one is going on the wall. My bro is a taxidermist and he talked me into getting that big one mounted.

Nothing better than spending quality time with the kids....Of Course, catching that nice walleye doesn't hurt..

Nice fish, your son's is a better eater though. :smt001

Up here, after two years of very few winter fish caught, everyone has been doing excellent with the Lake Trout.
They are eating well, coughing up plenty of smelt.

Probably an overall good sign for the Great Lakes, let's hope this carries over into the summer.

My mouth is watering just thinking of how good those Walleyes are going to taste.

Great pic of your son with his Walleye. Good job to you for taking him out and giving him an experience he'll never forget.

I have to say that when I read the title to this thread I knew I had to read it. First, nice fish and getting it mounted is a good idea. Second, fishing with your sons and hearing that would have be off the charts as I am sure it was for you. That is a great feeling when you have a child do something that they watch you do. Lastly, I would sure like to do that and taste one as well.
Great catch all the way around.

Never fished the ice.....actually what's ice? I only ever see it in my whiskey!

Well done, that's a nice fish. I'm presuming you cut a hole through the ice? Would love to see a few pictures of the setup, and info on the gear you use........I boat to fish, so it's a passion.
