I have a 2003 340 Sundancer would anyone happen to know what is under the Salon Couch. I can drill a hole and look with camera but just wondering if anyone has looked at storage under there. It sounds hollow but could be foam.

if it helps my 2001 has storage under the couch with access doors in front on both levels......(pic below is not my boat but similar).....I think I remember reading that starting in 2003.5 they added foam in that area but not 100% sure....

Outlaw32 did you ever figure out what's underneath your Salon seat? I'm curious as well. I have a 2007 340 and do not have any panels or access other than pulling the couch out 8 inchs.

From my investigations I do not believe there is much room under there as that is where the hull comes up on an angle. There is some visible drop below the base of the couch if you slide it all the way out but not that much after that. On the 1999-2003 the couch was raised on a platform which allowed for the storage underneath.

I store my grill outside under the port seat (the "cooler" compartment). Even if I could I don't think I would want the smell from a grill inside my cabin. Why not just keep in on a rod holder mount? Another option would be to store in down in the engine compartment forward of the genset.
For storage I somehow think the space behind the couch back would be the largest inaccessible block. I will be looking to see if I can capitalize on that if possible.
