Hello i am the proud owner of an sea ray 300da 1986 model and i live in Norway, i have totally renovated the boat and i need a tip... my boat was not delivered with the "spoiler" behind the windshield. Anyone who knows where i can get that part used? I guess its expensive to buy new if it is even possible to get it..?
Thomas

Arches are very difficult to come by for the old boats. Look in boat junkyards or if you really want one, have one made.

Welcome to the site and please put some pictures up of your renovation! I know others would love to see them as well!!

okay,, not so many sea rays in Norway, and not many boat junk yards either... i would like to post some pictures if someone tells me how to do it.

The easiest way is to post them for free on another website, like Photobucket. Then just copy the image or IMG and paste it in here.

Yesssss, we crazy ancient boat renovators want to see picture of your 300 :grin::grin:

this is a test to see if i get some pictures working..

Great pictures! Did you pull and replace the original carpet as well? It looks brand new inside now!

yes i have pulled out absolutely everything including the rooflining so it is as good as new.. it was dark pink carpets originally and pink cushions\seats inside, probably nice in the mid 80´s :smt038

Hard to believe that PINK was EVER nice, but the monkey fur on the roof really looks good! You did a great job and I'd love to have you come over here, spend the winter and do my boat too!!

Beautiful restoration job!!! Looks like you really brought this one back to life. Very cool to see a 30' Searay in Norway. Best of luck with it!

What port do you call home?

to total beige!

Beautiful.
The boat's really nice, too...

(J/K...but is that one of the legendary Norwegian blondes in the cockpit?)

Welcome to the '80's cruisers club!

Nice looking boat, love the teak but that's why we bought the 88. The one mod I am curious in is the diesel's repower that was done. Did you do it or was it done when you bought the boat?

The radar arch will be hard to find, might have to have one made or go with a metal arch.

almost all the boats in norway wich hav inboard engine is diesel because of extremely high gas prices, the boat was also delivered new in norway with two BMW\IVECO diesel engines (gas price = 2 dollars pr.liter. diesel 1 dollar pr.liter)
the two bmw engines were replaced in 1997 with the volvo diesel singel installation, the engine has only run 340 hours and is as good as new!

Do you have any pictures of that engine installation? I'm very interested in how they mounted and attached everything. Do you have oudrives or v-drives behind that diesel?

I remembere those BMW engines in silver!!! they were trendy before Volvo introduced the duoprop!!!

Same here in Italy, many 300 with Volvos, inboard and O/I... but I never saw one with single engine!

BTW...has she got a sister??? :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
