Selling our boat

Karen...I'm sorry to read this post....anytime y'all need a boat fix and you down this way we will hit the river

Thanks :)
We're actually going to downsize. With the job loss, there's no way we can afford the 270 this year. So, we'll sell it, hopefully make a little profit and turn it into a smaller boat

Sorry to hear this Karen, do hope everything works out okay for you, good luck with the sale and job search...keep in touch:)

Brenda

Karen,

Sorry to hear of this. Who lost a job? I must have missed that post. I saw on your profile page that you are a self employed massage therapist. I hope things turn around for you. Best of luck!

Thanks Mike. I just read through it. I remembered that thread and read when Karen turned back up. I just didn't follow it until the job loss post. Sad to hear that. There is alot of that going around.

Sad news to read, Good luck on the sale Karen. :smt001

I'm sorry to hear about that. Last year after being laid off, I contemplated the same thing. Luckily I got a job with Boeing and started my own business. We've had to sell our house and scale back for sure, but we really wanted (read: needed) to keep the boat for sanity reasons.

All the best in your transition.

I'm sorry to hear about the job loss.

Congratulations to you for being financially responsible. Making to hard decision to cut some luxuries in a lean time is something many people are not willing to do. Lately it seems most people aren't willing to admit that once their income has changed, their lifestyle must change as well.

I was in the same situation one year ago. Letting go of the boat is a huge mental hurdle. I was fortunate and found a new job rather quickly. What seemed like an enormous step backward ended up being one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I got a better job and bought a bigger boat.

It may take some time but eventually you will end up on top.

Good luck!

Hey Karen sorry to hear but we all have to make hard adult decisions.

Our boat just went on brokerage not due to job loss but job promotion. New position takes up too much of my time at this point so no sense in paying for something won't be able to use.

Sorry to hear of your current challenges, Karen. Our sincere best wishes to you and your husband. Don't act too fast on things like selling your house (assuming you like it). Sometimes things turn around faster than you think.

Warmest regards,
Jack

Thank you everyone :)
As much as I love my boat, it is just that. A boat. I think we're still going to put her in the water and use it (a little bit, gas is expensive in that thing LOL). My hope is that it will sell better being in the water.
So, if anyone knows anyone in the Jersey area looking for a clean, well kept boat, point them my way LOL
