I checked on the boat like I usually do, and decided to take a stroll through the yard. I was surprised how few boats have shrinkwrap doors. I ended up putting mine in way too low and should have gotten a much taller one. Imagine crawling under a bed -- that's what it's like to get in On the other hand I saw a bunch like my neighbor here (just cut a huge hole):
My shrink wrapper charges way too much for doors and usually puts it in the wrong spot. I buy my own on Amazon and put them in after where I want it. Buy the 72 inch tall ones so it’s easy to get in and out of. It’s easy to cut the hole out and put them in using shrinkwrap tape
Thanks @Jeremygavin and good call. I asked them to do it and they never did. I also got the door and tape from Dr Shrink on amazon and it was easy to put on except I chose the windiest possible day to do it! The only thing that make it tricky is how the wrap is tight from the top of the transom down to the swim platform. So it's a 48" door but it's at such an angle.
HAHA PL ... yes to all except the Hummer. Once the winter is over, and we're out on the water, I'll be cooking up the winter supply of steaks and pork! We also have a ton of wild turkeys. Unfortunately the boat slip season is only May 1 to Oct 31.
I am going to slither into mine today and it’s not going to be pretty. Getting out is where the fun will start since I’ll be backing out blind and downhill. I’ll be adding my own of a suitable size hereafter.
I put a door in on my 290 so i can still tinker all winter long. But i put mine the other way. This way i can just roll ot up and clip it and im not walking on it.
I have our marina shrink my boat. I typically re-use the door to at least 3 years. You can cut them out in spring, pull off the shrink wrap around the edges and use it again. It gets installed like Jeff's above, but its not as big as Jeff's. One year a brainiac shrink wrapper installed mine on the wrong side of the transom. That made for quite the contortions to get in. Ended up just cutting a new hole on the proper side.
Hahahaha. In dirty jersey i would never leave my boat all winter long at the marina. We bring ours home so when the admiral gets mad at me i have a place to go, and no gutter rat shitbird skell is gonna steal my stuff or live aboard between burglarizing cars.
