Siren Marine PSA

For those of you who run the Siren Marine telematics device on your boat, you may have noticed that your device has lost its effin' mind. Symptoms include, loss of NMEA connectivity, timeouts when controlling relays, loss of positional info on the home screen, etc.

Siren just pushed some "security" changes which require you to delete and re-install the Siren Marine app. (a simple update will not do). Once you re-download the app, you will need to login to the app using the same email and password with which you established your account. Once you do so, the device will relocate its lost elfin mind, and all will be well.

Good to know. I have one sitting in my garage waiting to install, but I've already registered it to the app. I updated the app this morning.

I'm thinkin' if it's never been installed, you're probably fine. Otherwise you may need to install the app twice Once for the bad mojo and once for the good ju-ju

Thanks for the heads up. I haven’t noticed and issue but I only look at it once a week right now to check the batteries.

Yes it has been a little Jenky that last couple weeks. The email I got today was just that the app was updates and to make sure you phone updated the app before you use it. If you are set to automatic update it should be fine. I checked mine and it updated overnight and is working great again. I keep waiting for the 3g turn down to happen and the deal to go to the new unit.... Should happen soon as the car makers are already doing it full force.

Yeah. I'm wondering if the reinstall bit is specific to the Pro 3. In any case glad it's working well for you.

I was wondering the same thing. If there are different issues of MTC vs. 3 Pro.
