Im pretty sure its the same 5.0mpi 260hp that I had in my 300 - it does have a BIII Drive - i have run a heavier (but same hull) 240da of this era with the same power package and dont remember any problems getting/staying on plane. what year was yours? what drive?

Edit - standard power on this boat was the 5.0 TKS 220hp with bravo 2 drive - i can see where that combo may be a dog. the 260/B3 this one has was an upgrade - the 5.7 and 6.2 were also available

IDDI, Now that's a LOT better. That is a nice looking boat, clean and I like the tubular arch.

Nice find. Ya done good.

My boat had the Bravo 2 it's kind of pathetic. Top speed was about thirty two or three didn't have any problem getting on plane though

I think the extra 40hp will make a difference - I've been told 28-29 mph at 3800rpm which is exactly what my 300 did with twin 260hp 5.0s. So I should get where I'm going just as fast using 1/2 the fuel......we'll see

Well, this is what I ended up with...

It cleaned up OK and ran well......so I sold it. And took this in partial trade

A '76 boston whaler 17 ss with an '06 90hp etec (yes, I just posted the thread Evinrude is no longer LOL) its shown on the transport making its way to Florida. In its retirement, it will be relegated to sandbar and ICW duty - no Bahamas with this one! I've got to stop trading boats.....every time they get smaller!

Congrats?! I think you may have a problem..lol. Are you full time FL now?

I have a 14' Mckee (Whaler clone basically) that I keep on a trailer next to the big boat. Pop it in the water when we are aboard the 380 a fun little cruiser. That 17' is perfect for a support boat or just boppin' around.
