So you got yourself COVID vaccine. Think you can’t get COVID? Think again.

I'm sure they all had ZERO comorbidities.

And fyi... if you look at the most deadly professions...law enforcement officers aren't even in the top 20! Not sure why so many think and/or act like it's the deadliest profession out there...

I think there are many cops in many precincts that would find your comments insulting.

Say what @Dani-Lu. Nothing against cops or law enforcement at all, but the stats don't lie. I looked it up, #22 on the most dangerous professions list, so try again! Also, two of my brothers are cops....I also passed the test, thankfully decided against going down that path. Nothing like having to make a split second decision then being crucified over it

This is the covid thread, so I'll ask again, @Iprof, did they die WITH covid or FROM covid?

But even WITH the many vaxxes and therapeutics, we have MORE covid deaths in 2021 than 2020. o_Oo_O

This just doesn't add up...

This table you have repeated shows rates of positive covid tests. Interesting, but not relevant to the purpose of the vaccines, which is to reduce serious illness and death. Here are the tables for those:

Thanks. This data goes to prove, if your under 50, let's even say 60, with no comorbidities, covid is very unlikely to kill you.

Nice goal post move.
Not at all on my part. The premise of this thread is that vaccination doesn't prevent infection and everyone seemed to agree with that early on. But, months later, posters continue to cite increased infections as evidence that the vaccines don't work. I was merely providing the rest of the story from the same report cited showing that hospitalizations and deaths from covid in the U.K. are very much reduced in the vaccinated versus the unvaccinated, which is exactly what the vaccines were designed to do.
If you mean that @firecadet continues to try to move the goal posts back to infection stats, then I'm with you.

No, the vaccine was sold to the people as a way to prevent infection. It apparently isn't do that all that well.

From Covid

You keep going on about it killing you but the long term effects and the costs associated with that is insane. The lung and heart issues on those that get Covid and have those complications is a life sentence. I have COPD and take three pills and 3 inhalers daily. For those that don't have any prescription coverage your looking at $400.00 plus a month for the rest of your life. June 2011 I had 4 heart attacks caused by a blood clot from my lungs so I take a pill for that too. 54% of the ICU in Florida were Covid cases the last time I checked.

It's too soon to tell either way. I know many who have had covid and so far, no ill effects have shown up...

Not sure we can say that with the vax - too soon to tell.

Again, if someone gets the vax, I get everything that comes with it - guaranteed. You are not, however, guaranteed to get covid...

Florida is not reporting any vaccinated in their ICU's. Yes you can still get covid after being vacinated but the symptoms are almost zero, my dad after both shots got covid and only had loss of smell lasted almost 2 months but no side effects so far.

Nonsense. The vaccine approvals were very clear that the endpoints of the trials only evaluated efficacy based on the number of people who became ill, not on whether the vaccines prevented infection. Anyone who assumed otherwise was not paying attention.

I'll just refer you to Pfizer's own press release.
  • Data from 43,448 participants, half of whom received BNT162b2 and half of whom received placebo, showed that the vaccine candidate was well tolerated and demonstrated 95% efficacy in preventing COVID-19 in those without prior infection 7 days or more after the second dose

IDK, something about "preventing Covid-19," but I guess I won't believe my lying eyes.

You can research the others.

Yep. It clearly states it's effective at preventing COVID-19, while making no mention of preventing infection with SARS-CoV-2. That's a meaningful difference.

You left out the most relevant part of the Waferford, Ireland, report:

Mr Reid said it was “striking” that 60% of those with Covid-19 being treated in ICU are not vaccinated.

"This is striking when only 9% of adults haven't been fully vaccinated. Vaccinations do protect stronger," the HSE chief executive said.

Mr Reid urged anyone who has not been vaccinated against Covid-19 to come forward for a jab.
