So you got yourself COVID vaccine. Think you can’t get COVID? Think again.

Please share those stats and the source.

People were turned away because the beds were needed for those who were in worse condition. What is the point you’re trying to make with that argument?

BS! We’ve built thousands of extra beds in temporary hospitals, many of which that never saw single patient.

But the media sure made the most out of liberal missmanagement in blue cities.

That post is only about a month old. There’s no additional “argument” for the news to make a story out of, which is why it’s no longer talked about in the news.

Also keep in mind that the mortality rate is lowered by the existence of a vaccine. You guys like to gloss over the efforts of others while making your argument.
I'd think a case could be made that we've likely reached herd immunity a couple months ago...if recognized that would have further diminish the rush to be vaccinated

Those facilities were not available to every city. We didn't have any in our area, where our beds were full (according to the workers that I know, I don't watch the media BS).

We are certainly in a much better spot now!

The vaccine is NOT needed for a virus with a high survival rate.

As to the turning people away, I have a family member who tested positive. Admitted twice, sent home once, other time left on his own as they were doing nothing for him...

If only they didn't ban HCQ or ivermectin...

But where they were built.... they were empty. That fact remains.

Couldn't have been because the stay at home orders were working. Right?

Why are you working so hard to support the government and vaccine company narratives? Fauci, the face of the governments response to the virus has been proven a liar many times throughout this event. Our government has been proven to lie to people and to misstreat people. The pharmaceutical companies have been proven to engage in despicable activities, one of the vaccine suppliers had a fine about 10 years ago that was unfathomable.

Why do you believe them? Why do you support their narratives?

There are other sources.

When science agrees with a politician, I’ll follow the science.

When Facebook “science” agrees with a politician, it’s probably a lie.

Why do you vote when you KNOW all politicians are liars and crooks?

And to be clear, I'm not "working so hard".

This is entertaining. I know I'm not going to change any of your stubborn ass minds. Just like you're not going to change mine. Personally, I wish we would just stick to boating and boating related post. But if I'm exposed to these conversations, I might as well get some entertainment out of them.

How many hospitals did you visit during those times? ...exactly my point. You don't know. I, on the other hand, work in hospitals across the country. I have been in ER's and CCU's since spring 2020. Ive been in empty hospital units. I was in an ER where all the nurses and doctors wearing full head to toe gowns, stretchers lining the walls, plastic sheets hanging from the ceilings cutting off corridors....nobody there.

You need to switch channel from CNN.

The difference for some of us is that this isn't entertainment and our minds can get changed with facts. You spew opinions. I base my decisions on facts.
I wish you'd stick to boating related posts too. It's funny when guys like you come in threads like this and whine about it's content. This is the Tiki Bar. You have to come looking for it...

Covid is the only disease that they didn't to any treatment for until you where critical. There were several attempts using things that where safe and somewhat effective. Politics shut it all down.

The mortality rate was low even before the vaccine was available. The vaccines did not change that except for the highest risk population. Me and my wife tested + the day after easter this year. The day before there were about 10 of us at my mothers and nobody there had ever knowingly had COVID. Nobody wore a mask and there was no social distancing of any kind. Just business as usual. My mother and step-father were the only ones there that had been vaccinated (they are both upper 60's). Not 1 of them felt any symptoms after we tested +. Not saying they didn't get it but if they did they never knew it.

But then there's the potential "long Covid" problem:
A Tsunami of Disability Is Coming as a Result of ‘Long COVID’
We need to plan for a future where millions of survivors are chronically ill
"An increasing number of studies find that greater than one fourth of patients have developed some form of long COVID."
" Initial indications suggest that the likelihood of developing persistent symptoms may not be related to the severity of the initial illness; it is even conceivable that infections that were initially asymptomatic could later cause persistent problems."
"The related health care and disability costs are also still unknowable. How many “long haulers” will never be able to return to work? How many will need short-term disability payments? How many will be permanently disabled and become dependent on disability programs? As increasing numbers of younger people become infected, will we see an entire generation of chronically ill?"

I have wondered about that myself. Will there be long term lung issues? I hope not but do see it as a possibility. I'm sure many will take advantage of it too just like happens now.

On the contrary mate. Well proven that being outside in fresh air open spaces safer and lower infection rate.

Same for flu season. Main reason so many get it because most are inside out of the cold.

What was it you were saying about following the science?

I've asked over and over for facts. Nothing has been provided, other than a lot of political garbage.

And fortunately, this is the "tiki bar", where we all have an opinion...
