SOBs Ruined Halloween

You need to get out some paper and pencil....
It could be that even more than half are below average.

When I see new Drs or nurses a few times I've asked them if they were an A student or bought the answers to the tests, just joking with them. I've never got a laugh from any of them. The ones that answered just said 'I passed'.:)

Fair enough. I didn’t actually do a sampling. I was simply pointing out the error in the vocabulary.

Both you guys need to lighten up... and you have no excuse fan you should be in Florida :)

Funny comment to make here, as there’s not enough cheese in all of Wisconsin to go with all the whining going on above in this thread!

Okay ...cheese whining Wisconsin....what’s the end game here scooper ?

Early treatments have certainly been studied and numerous more are in progress. Here's one of many done on Hydroxychloroquine:
A Randomized Trial of Hydroxychloroquine as Postexposure Prophylaxis for Covid-19
"After high-risk or moderate-risk exposure to Covid-19, hydroxychloroquine did not prevent illness compatible with Covid-19 or confirmed infection when used as postexposure prophylaxis within 4 days after exposure."
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2016638

Verdict is mixed on Vitamin D but study is ongoing:
COVID-19: What role does vitamin D play?
"But does vitamin D have a part to play in COVID-19? By now, a number of studies have looked for links between the vitamin and the condition, and their findings have conflicted."
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/covid-19-what-role-does-vitamin-d-play

Agree the doctors shouldn't make policy and don't see evidence they've been doing so, just providing professional advice, not always taken by policy makers.
Neither of those studies looked at treatment with either substance -- ie; treatment that keeps one out of the hospital and on to recovery on their own.

If they don't make policy, then what does "listen to the scientists" mean? Guys like Fauci have been anointed Pope -- the media hangs on his every word.

Frustrating night.

Tampa bay is struggling against the giants... starting to cheer for the bucs, second home to us. Also, when you live in Dallas you have maintain a backup team.

I'm not entirely sure what your sentence about the studies means. It seems obvious to me, that, if Hydroxychloroquine given at exposure doesn't help, it can't take on the role you seem to want it to take. But, as I said, there are numerous other studies that looked at almost every possible angle you can go look at.

The evidence on Vitamin D from several studies including the article I posted indicates that individuals who maintain higher levels have fewer and/or less severe infections. So, taking a supplement to keep one's Vitamin D level up seems to be a good idea and I do that myself.
On what you are looking for, there is a completed, small sample size study from Spain that indicates that calcifediol therapy reduced deaths and illness severity in covid patients. A much larger trial is in progress. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0960076020302764?via=ihub
On the other hand, Dr. Fauci recommends taking a Vitamin D supplement and does so himself which I presume is a reason for some to avoid it.

I view Dr. Fauci as filling a role much like intelligence professionals do for military organizations. They provide the best available information and suggest courses of action and modify their positions as more data come in but do not make the decisions as to how to respond. But, if you think Dr. Fauci deserves the status of Pope, then:

Zero tricker-treaters here, which is unfortunate since I had the BBQ sauce all laid out.

40 kids stopped by my sisters house. I live at the end of a dead end street, I just leave candy out on the porch. Hardly anyone comes by.

Beautiful night. We put a table out with treats.

We sat around a fire and watched the neighborhood enjoy the evening

I was bummed because it was the first time in 14 years I did not go trick or treating with the kids. My daughter and Grandkids went to Cedar Point for the weekend.

This is my Halloween costume from last year. My best friends daughter got married close to Halloween. So the wedding had a Halloween theme. The wedding was in Henryville Indiana. Home of Colonel Sanders.
