Got a few of my upgrades finished! First (my absolute favorite) and most important she's finally been named! Then I got to my electronics. Went from the factory equipment (Raytheon r10xx screen with 2kw dome, ray nav gps raystar 112p and garmin ancient plotter to new, well new to me rl80c attached to a 4kw open array, rl70c, raystar 125 and a second vhf north star ns100. (Not happy with at all). I didn't have the extra $$ to order new panels so I had to compromise and keep everything tight to each other to cover the existing holes. Didn't come out perfect but not to bad for the circumstances either. I'm very very happy with my new setup and much more confident. Last upgrade for this season will b my wood floors. This weekend's project. http://s870.photobucket.com/user/xplicitlnck/library/Mobile Uploads?sort=3&page=1

Looks great Jonathan! Dash looks great with the new electronics. Like the name too!

Thank YOU very much. I have to give out a big thank you to a member that helped me out tremendously with his very generous pRicing on the electronics being the only reason why I have them. I went name ya but you made one young man very very happy and a big thank you for everything you've done for me the past few years on all of our trips together. Couldn't have been as safe abd as comfortable without you. So again thank you very very much.

Off topic but, please don't use the pictured heaters in the engine room unattended (or at all).
I have the same type in my cabin for heat while doing winter projects and they are great but, not in the ER.
Its not worth it...

Nice Job Jonathan,
I just finished my dash and electronics upgrades this morning too! I think I spent a week just sorting the mess of old wiring and past upgrades from the previous owner. I went minimalist. Looks like you had a fun time doing all that work and I know its both time consuming and can be difficult but the end result justifys the hard work and is really satisfying. If you have not ordered materials for you floors I can help. Really happy with mine, did it last year.

My electronics install took me all of 2 days. I was very happy with the way the wires were so organized when I pulled out the old electronics. So that saved me alot of time. I actually did have allot of fun doing the install and you are correct the end result is extremely satisfying. As for the floor Im almost done have one more strip to do and then just bring the hatch up so it's level with to test of the floor. The curves and cuts were ridiculous. Just so many but I was very surprised I was able to contour the wood flooring the way I did. I actually impressed myself lol. On my way to finish it up right now and then enjoy this beautiful weather!

I know I shouldn't have it there I have no excuses and no comments your 100% CORRECT.

Floors are finished! Click link in post one for pics. Very happy with the new floor. Completely changed the look of the cabin! On the flip side somebody got caught up in the wind trying to dock and hit me...

Really nice! What did you use for flooring? I am going to take on my stairs now sometime this coming week. The treads look like they are screwed on and glued. Are you planning to do yours? I know what you are saying about all the radius work, lots of angles and corners. Wasn't the old glue for the carpet fun, lol. Looking really good, keep it up!

Everything looks great. I didn't think you could use Allure flooring in that type of environment? Let us know how it holds up.

thank you very much!
I used allure flooring. I dint c there being a problem with it holding up. There's no filling that well absorb moisture like alot of the other flooring so well c what happens. I've been thinking about the steps but just can't get my brain to figure out how or what to use so if you could keep track of your purchases and the process I would greatly appreciate it. Can't figure out what to use for the edge moldings and all that. The glue for the carpet on mine was not bad at all. Carpet came right up except for some small areas but it only took me all of an hour to rip up carpetc clean excess glue and prep for new floor. I have 20 hours invested into the process. Not to bad.

Hi Jonathan,
My stair carpet is shot, really bad. The trick with changing the stairs to match the floors is to rebuild them. There is no way to cover them like you would with the floors. All of the stair treads and sides are thicker pieces of wood screwed and I believe glued to a stair framework and door underneath. I will be removing the treads and sides and removing the carpet from them. Then I will use the treads and other pieces as templates to make new stained and epoxied pieces from maple to match my maple sedona engineered flooring. A router can be used for the edges and non-skid. It doesn't look to be that bad but I will post as I go, might even start today some time.
