Starlink

@Irie308 I spoke with Dale yesterday and he is making me this exact mount. Very nice guy, as it turns out Dale is a member on here, just hasn't been active of late. He is also thinking of making a few of these if anyone is interested. He can also do custom mounts as well. Although this is pretty custom.
Not only is Dale a member here but check this out.

Sorry for the derail guy's.

Final install. Pretty happy with the lower profile look and performance so far. I'm curious as to how it sees the radar mount. going to leave it online this weekend for the required 6 hours so that it can gather obstruction information. However speeds were about 163 mbps down and 30 mbps up. Again huge shout out to @MasterFab for fabricating the mount with my less than ideal directions...lol

Looks fantastic! I originally had mine mounted in that same location, had a dome in the way instead of radar but had good speeds even with a little obstruction.

Dale sent me pics of mine, should have it in a week or so. I went with the original low fat base like in your original post.

Curious to see how it turns out. Post a pic when installed.

It's going to be a while until it gets installed. This is what I have so far, it's going where the dome currently is in my sig pic.

Looking good. You may already know but be careful cutting the back. Specifically that indentation where the mast recesses. The data cable is right there.

Made an observation today. StarLink doesn’t like water sitting on the face. Probably why the maritime and in motion ones are angled. I factored in a bit of forward pitch to mine but with the boat blocked on the hard it was enough stern angle to flatten out the dish and water settle on the face. The dish was offline until I removed the water. Just an fyi.

I received my mount today, man this is nice and strong.

As it stands now it doesn't conform to the back of the SL, but I think once I cut away and remove the motors it's going to fit pretty snug. A little 5200 and it'll be fine.

Thank you @MasterFab Dale! Very nice work!

I took a second look at the pic of your mount and I have to say, it looks pretty funny seeing a SL and a Glomax antenna on the same arch. I guess your going to remove that at some point?

Actually I’m going to leave it for now. It still works and picks up local channels. Also the ocd in me needs it for symmetry…lol

That looks great. I like the lower profile. If I had a flatter broader surface I would have went this route. My arch has 3" circular flat spots that only allow for standard antenna type mounts. BTW this is what my obstruction view looks like with the flat mount. Also like I mention before its sitting dead level now on the hard. Water on the face will kill the reception. Hoping when i'm in the water there is some pitch forward. Not a big deal when we're at anchor but may be an issue when the boat is sitting at the dock and I'm not aboard.

When I had the SL mounted like yours is now, I never noticed any issues with water pooling. That's not to say it doesn't cause interference with the signal strength, just didn't have any noticeable issues. I think you will be fine when at the dock or anchor. That said, I did notice when in heavy rain there are issues with signal strength in general, much like with DTV when in heavy rain the signal would vanish at times.

Great obstruction results though, shouldn't be an issues at all.

Man I never saw the string of satellites from SL up close and personal before. I was just sitting in my hot tub and looked up and saw about 15-18 in a row fly on by, pretty cool to see. My wife said, awe look santa clause is early this year. Can't make that sh*t up.

It looks like the new v3 array is the same price as the old one.

This is what rain on the dish looks like.

I hear you. One of those domes is empty but it the OCD likes symmetry. I'm still struggling with the idea of putting a white SL dish on the arch. LOL.
