As I stated before we keep the boat on a lift and I took the advice and ran the boat to get a prime to my A/C-Heater circulation pump. That worked fine. Sat in a slip in Annapolis for 3 days and lost prime to the pump on day two. Ran boat back to Pasadena and prime restored. There was no obstruction to the pick up while in Annapolis slip. Any ideas for a problem free A/C pump operation.

I would check your fittings and clamps. Doesn't take much of a leak to start sucking air or loosing your prime.

Replace the strainer lid gasket.

I have no idea what you have on your boat, but I'd bet money that you have Perko strainers with original cork gaskets. Once you over tighten the lid onto cork gaskets, the cork compresses and never regains its shape. Keep tightening and it soon tightens bronze on bronze and will leak air. Perko does have a rubber replacement for the cork gaskets, so order a set of rubber replacement gaskets for all your Perko strainers and you won't deal with this one again.

On my Perko Strainer Caps there are two rubber gaskets. If one is missing, could cause a leak according to Perko.
