Stuff I'm not putting back on the boat...

So how does one post a photo to a reply? I would like to show another use for the floating noodly things.

Thanks,

Upload the photo you want to a photo sharing site. I use www.flickr.com, but there are others. Once the picture is there, you grab the url of the picture and copy it into your post using the "Insert Image" icon (the yellowish one) on the CSR post entry dialogue box.

Kinda like this...

OK, lets see if this works....another use for the noodle.....

I don't see this on the reply "using the "Insert Image" icon (the yellowish one)"

ok, it's a little more complex... once you have the pic posted to flickr, go to your account, find the picture you want and click the "all sizes" icon that should be just above the picture. Depending on the size of the original image, it will show you a range of sizes. Pic the one that you want to display (don't pick too big of an image). Once you select that size, scroll down below the pic to "option 2; grab the photo's URL". It will show a URL in a dialogue box. Highlight that URL and copy it (Ctrl-C). Then within your post you can use the yellowish "Insert Image" icon above. Click on that icon and paste (Ctrl-V) the URL into that dialogue box. It sounds complicated, but the process takes seconds once you get used to it.

Man... that's way too complicated.... just put an image tag around the URL...

(img) put-URL-here (/img) but use the square brackets instead of the parenthesis.

You have to have the full URL with the file name included... that's not in the URL you have there....

Using the dialogue box is easy. See below:

Click on the "image" button (circled in red above) and the dialogue box pops up. In that box you paste the URL of the image. Done.

The "complicated" part of my instructions where how to get the URL for the image on flickr. I think on Photobucket may be easier, but flickr let's you pick which size of the image you want, so you have to go through the extra three seconds of complications.:smt021

And those steps are (again for flickr only):
got to the photo's page and click on the "All Sizes" button (circled in red below):

Ouce, you go through that horrible ordeal, pic the size you want and scroll down to the bottom where you can copy the URL from the box that says "2 Grab the Photo's URL:"

Again, this is for flickr only. Other sites may be differerent.

I understand the flickr side, it's the posting side that's getting me. When I click Post Reply all I get is a Title box, Post Icons, Additional Options and a Message Box. I do not see anywhere where I can insert an image.

I took Gary's suggestion and wrapped the link with img tags. Lets see if it worked.

Gary, you may recognize this place, it's the pool at the hotel at the Hampton Public Piers.

edit: wrapping with img tags did not work

Way to much chap stick, suntan lotion and coozies. Not to mention the water guns and a place setting for 10.

Mrs.-
Try this: go to the user Control panel on CSR (homepage: UserCP); on the left select "edit options"; scroll all the way down to the last dialogue box, select "Full WYSIWYG" from the selections available. Then you will finally see the illusive yellow icon when you reply to or post a message.

I'm waiting to get yelled at because this has nothing to do with "Stuff I'm not putting back on the boat...". Oh well.

Sounds like Photobucket may be easier. http://photobucket.com/

When your pics are uploaded to this site, they provide you with a img url to copy and paste anywhere into your text when posting.

+1 for photobucket.
Ok, ok, all hail photobucket.
Mrsrobinson's question was about posting the photo's URL here on CSR. It doesn't make a damn bit of difference where the pic is posted if you don't know how to post the URL on CSR.
