i am ready to pull my hair out!!!!???
does anyone know where i can get replacement seals for my canvas? i have been looking for weeks and nothing i have come across is an exact match...

Ameritex Fabric Systems Sure Seal was what i was hoping to grab (still don't think they will fit right) but they unfortunately are not taking any orders calls quotes or messages at the moment

i'm also really not looking to change the track system to tracks as i love the water tight seal !!

You may be able to order them from Great Lakes Canvas you will need to call or e-mail them.

When I had my 260 DA my track seals were not working well with the old canvas. When I ordered new canvas from Great Lakes Canvas they had new seals on them and they worked great since they were new.

Hi. Did you ever track this shown? I’m trying to find some of the push in rubber gasket for a canvas we are sewing. I emailed Great Lakes tonight as the other poster suggests since Ameritex doesn’t seem to sell directly to the consumer.

When I replaced my canvas on my last boat the canvas shop replaced the snap in seal(nightmare to use)with snaps. The snaps were designed to go into the track. No more seal on the canvas was the best part of the canvas job!

I believe we can get these rubber extrusions for you from GLBT (unfortunately I do not know who makes them for them). I can put in a call and confirm. If interested let me know.

Many people choose that option. The rubber seal seems to work very well when new (from what I am told) but as it ages it seems to become more of a pain. When the eisenglass shrinks it seems to be the worst. At least with snaps you can try to stretch them with a tool like the TopSnapper.

Lots of folks don't like that snap in rubber seal but I sure did. I'd just wipe it down once in a while with 303, sometimes with silicone spray on a rag...keep it lubed up, a bit more supple, don't let it get dried out and stiff. The other thing I did on the 280DA was lower the front bimini support down one position, insert the bottom rubber in the groove, then lift on the binimi support until it locks in to it's highest/final position.

Thanks. Let me get back to you. My wife is doing the canvas and she's out for the next couple of days. I guess if it's easy to get ma a price for about 12' of it that would be great. She's weighing the convenience of snaps with the seal that the existing track seal system offers. I'll get back with you in the next couple of days.

I didn't have any problem with the rubber seal on my 270... made for a clean look.

The rubber extrusion is available from GLBT as an standalone item if needed. They are sold in 84 inch sections. I since these posts get archived I do not like to post prices because they will not be the same a couple years from now - I will PM you. They are relatively inexpensive however the shipping is probably going to cost as much (if not more) than the item.

Mine are 25 years old and we are making new canvas. Just weighing options.
