A while back I had my strataglass redone above the windshield. As it never leaked prior, I didn't suspect a newly installed glass would. Wrong. Bad storms and my helm got soaked...particularly the starboard side where the constant drip from the zipper soaked my systems monitor panel..which when I arrived was screaming at me an lit up like a christmas tree. I had to shut the breaker off in the bilge and it's never worked since. I'm actually shocked that this would happen on a boat which at anytime can be exposed to the elements. All of that said, has this ever happened to anyone...and if so, was it determined if the panel itself was shot or the terminal module under the helm. I've operated withouth it for the better part of 2 years now but would really like to have it operable if not an outlandish expense.

Thanks much in advance.

Mike

Probably the easiest thing would be to test someone else’s and see if it works. If not, it’s probably the module.

If yours is the one that looks like an outline of a boat with a bunch of red LEDs you may be screwed. Those are way obsolete. There was a guy in FL that was rebuilding them IF they were not potted on the back. If its potted (like mine) its garbage. I did reach out to Sea Ray a few years back to see if there was a way to convert them. Eventually, after much back & forth, a customer service rep told me I could purchase x, y & z for a total cost of around $2k. At that point I had an epiphany & realized I didnt miss it so much after all!!

Hit the nail on the head. That's exactly the one that I have. May I ask what you are referring to by "potted"? Thanks much!

Potted means that the components on the back of the circuit board are sealed in epoxy. This makes it virtually impossible to service.
