Just 6 I think short wood screws. After thinking about this a little, I think sea ray put that plastic mount in to allow a little movement. If it were cast or stainless the pole or something would break or bend without a little movement. There is a little wiggle left but it feels solid. not like before.

Actually the new ones are aluminum (base and pole). Don't be afraid to upgrade when the time comes. Chances are, you fixed it so well that you're going to forget about it!
 
It's probably stronger than it was new....who knows/
 
I had the same problem with my 1981 sundancer 260, my mount was screwed in,took a razor knife and cut slits into carpet,peeled it back enough to access screws and removed mount,sanded crack and J.B. welded it,works great now:smt001
