Been a while since I posted here but want to give another shout out of thanks to Frank W. He was kind enough to respond to someone who "left the fold" and went over to the dark side and now owns a trawler style boat.
Short story...we are on the Great Loop and needed some repairs that were above my pay grade near Frank's home marina. Frank suggested Treasure Island Marina in Panama City Beach and they did a nice job. He also stopped by to say hello, gave us numerous local suggestions and was just plain a gentleman throughout our 3 day stay.
I had never personally met Frank until now and it was great to do so! His advice when we owned our 2006 44DA was always spot on. He also helped me via phone and email as we purchased our Grand Banks (CAT engine survey information and advice) last year.
You all have a superb resource in Frank...Thanks again Frank!

That's great to hear - it's always nice to see an "atta-boy".
From what I've seen, Frank has always very helpful with ideas, suggestions and help

It's also good to see someone doing the loop. I have been studying the details of the loop recently and will do it some point. Interesting that you went to a trawler (as many do) to make the journey. I've read a few books on others adventures and a few blogs, I'll have to check your blog out and see how it's going ... cheers

Tom,

Thank you, I was glad to help. It was a pleasure finally putting a face to the voice on the phone and meeting you and Julie in person. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in our area and have an uneventful crossing.

This was my first time aboard a "new" Grand Banks and I am impressed. You have a beautiful boat!

Welcome back! Glad you stopped by to say hello! Frank W. Is always such a helpful man. We are very blessed to have him on this board.

The Grand Banks Europa is a beautiful boat and near perfect for your journey.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!
Smooth waters!

I always enjoy reading his posts. Straight up, old school, to the point, no BS.

I will also check out your Blog on the loop. Safe journeys.

I'm with you I see Franks post and I read them even though it has nothing to do with my boat

Although I have never met Frank, I will tell you that from my experience reading his posts on this forum, he has a vast knowledge of Sea Ray boats, diesel engines, and most everything else mechanical, not to mention a smart business sense, and also a healthy dose of common sense mixed with a good old fashioned desire to help when he can. That in my opinion is a rare combination.

Ha! That's funny... I thought I was the only one. None of Frank's posts pertain to me specifically but I read every one of them just for the general knowledge I get from reading his replies. Not only about boats and boating...but also about being a good person. His selfless way with advice and opinions is something we all can learn from.

He's a great asset and was kind enough to trade emails and guide me with previous attempts at purchases. Thanks, Frank.

I'm new here and also would like to say thanks to Frank. I try not to miss any of his post either. He had some good advise on my diesel vs gas questions in the 400 Sundancer forum. Thanks for being here Frank, I'm sure you have saved a whole lot of headaches for the people here on CSR. I'm sure I will have a lot more questions for you in the future especially if the sale goes through on my 310 and I end up with the 400.
Good luck and have fun on the loop Sum Escape. I hope to be able to do that trip someday. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog.
