Pretty much fits the bill for this Administration.
They should have just held a lottery, and given away free cars...that us and our children will have to pay for. It's so simple for this "gang" we have in power to spend money WE DON'T HAVE. Am I the only one scared shi*less over this?

Our deficit has tripled in the past year. 'Course, that's Bush's fault...

I heard or read somewhere that the amount of money spend on the stimulus equals 75k for each 50k job it created..and they want to run the health care in this country, no thanks

Good thing they haven't taken up boat repair. We pay enough already...

I can't wait until we put the inmates back in the assylum... If there is one left when they get done running it.

They should of given each household a wad a money and let them spend it as they see fit. Virtually all businesses including auto manufacturers would have been stimulated at the same time with less cost to us taxpayers.

Huh? It would be a zero sum gain because all of the people who would have had to work for the money in the first place, wouldn't have had it to spend, but a different group of people would. There would be no benefit overall, just that a different group of people would be spending the money. So the people that worked for the money wouldn't be spending anything.

No matter how you slice it, government spending does not help the economy.

John Keynes was a horses' petutti...

The question is did it work? Did the GDP increase 3.5% with the help of this? Ask your fellow Sea Ray owners who are in the car industry and I am sure you will recieve a resounding "hell yes". At least this money was targeted to the commoner taxpayer who owns a mid-size cruiser or run-about as opposed to some a.s.s hole Wall Street jerk who owns a yacht.

or some P E N I S brain who owns a four winns.

Maybe you should become a "Wall Street jerk" so you don't feel so inadequate...

All this bail out and stimulus money is total BS.. No one should get any "free money"...

That won't work either. 70% of it would be spent on past debt/bills. The rest would just be blown on stupid **** ....(like $390 for a ticket to be first in line to see Michael Jacksons new movie)........that would have little impact on the overall economy.

I myself need a new roof on my house. That will help stimulate the local economy. But I don't want anyone else to pay for it.

You are showing your age... get with the program... free roofs for everyone.

+1

In my area, the only "stimulus" money has gone to two large companies that already held a LARGE share of the construction market. Now they appear to hold 99%. Not the best spent money in my opinion.

I can see your are having trouble accepting change. The new way of doing things should give every household money not just those that buy a new car. This cash for clunkers deal was unfair to all the rest of us cause we didn't get any free $$$$. Same thing with this first time homebuyer deal. What a ripoff, I already have a house, Obama should just give me the money if he really means to be fair. I want my money, I'm being cheated. This crap makes me feel bad, I should be compensated for that also. Some CSR members have nicer boats than me, that hurts deeply and I want Obama to make me equal. We are all equal in this country...right?

What Woody is talking about is
  • A permanent tax cut
  • Spending cuts to reduce the deficit.

That's what works.

Best regards,
Frank

:wow::smt101

There is a difference between actually being a tax payer and a tax loaner

A tax payer actually has to pay money for taxes on their earnings/income, whereas a tax loaner has money withheld each pay period and then at the end of the year gets it all back and usually some additional money they did not even pay.

It was perfectly fair. I didn't really want a car, but since the Government was giving away free money, I decided to help out the Government of Japan. I bought a Nissan that I didn't necessarily want. The Emperor thinks its fair. He's been slacking on the thank you note, though.

If you need Obama to make you equal, you are in sad shape my friend...

I don't know how but I think you missed the boat. No big deal, I'm ok with it.

Idiot....since you're obviously a "common taxpayer" you should be thanking those of us who are uncommon taxpayers covering those who are non tax payers so you so called common taxpayers can keep what you have, otherwise.....Obama will be in your pockets next...ahole be gone :smt021

Wow, pretty harsh responses…

I’m the one that was posting as a guest, I was just playing around, but didn’t expect that I would receive such criticism.

Yikes…
