traded my 220 select in for a new 270 slx on friday.

the 270 is an amazing boat!

is there any way to tap the nav into the factory smartcarft system?

the 270 has the upgraded momo audio system, have any of you upgraded the 8" subs for 10" subs?

Yes it is. I have seen a couple of them around now and I love them. Since we just bought our 210 in May, I think we'll be waiting around a while before we upgrade though. Anyway, congrats on the new boat! :smt038 Now you can change your signature to be a list of Sea Rays (instead of just a single one). Oh, and POST SOME PICS, please?!

Congratulations! Remember to change your boat type too.(Grin)

I just got a 270 last week and Ive been out 4 times already and we had 7 people on the boat yesterday.....awesome boat..

On Friday I was out in 2-3 waves and it cut through em like butter..

went to the marina today to put the boat in a slip.

only pic i have at this point

i didn't remember to look at the nav but i got this off the sea ray site:
Navman 5500 Chartplotter.

we had 8 people on friday then 7 on saturday. cutting the waves was insane! every time we hit some good rollers, a friend and i just looked at each other and laughed.

The 5500 will not interface to Smartcraft.

thanks dave, i read your post after i updated the thread. guess i can only cross my fingers and hope it breaks.

and the c-map website is a little lame to navigate, sort of ironic.

The SR site lists that as the plotter, but it is actually Northstar 550. It will integrate with Smart Craft, you need an adapter and a junction box. Search the site, there are a couple threads that cover the topic well.

I love my 270 as well, except that it keeps running out of gear lube. Cuts through the chop and handles like a sports car. I have had 12 people out no problem.

just got back from the boat and it does have the 5505, guess i'm in luck.

the automatic anchor is the best thing ever!

EHaze: Great looking boat!! The blue hull is really sharp.

What power option did you go with? 350? 496?

Congrats!

Highslice: When we looked at the 270SLX this year at the boat show, we noticed the maximum number of people to be 8. The 220 we currently have says 10. When you had 12 on board were a lot of them kids? If they were all adults, how did it handle?

You know, Sea Ray has that on their website too, and it is wrong. The 270 is Yacht Certified and does not have a capacity limit. You can have as many people you want on the boat as long as there is a life jacket for each person and the number of people on board is "safe" (I haven't figured that one out, but i think if the boat sinks, then it wasn't safe:lol:). That's why we moved up from the 240 (which is almost the perfect boat IMO), because we often had 11 or 12 people that wanted to go out and that was too many for the 240.

With 12 on board, I didn't not notice much of a performance drop, but I also wasn't running WOT. We had 5 adults, 2 adult sized kids and 5 normal sized kids. Pulled skiers, tubes and boards no problem. Got on plane easy. I was impressed.
