the happiest day for a boat owners life, blah, blah, got a new one

traded my 220 select in for a new 270 slx on friday.

the 270 is an amazing boat!

is there any way to tap the nav into the factory smartcarft system?

the 270 has the upgraded momo audio system, have any of you upgraded the 8" subs for 10" subs?

Ehaze,

Congrats, I had a question, what year was your 220 you traded? Did they give you a good deal? Thinking about upgrading myself.

Thanks

You know, Sea Ray has that on their website too, and it is wrong. The 270 is Yacht Certified and does not have a capacity limit. You can have as many people you want on the boat as long as there is a life jacket for each person and the number of people on board is "safe" (I haven't figured that one out, but i think if the boat sinks, then it wasn't safe:lol:). That's why we moved up from the 240 (which is almost the perfect boat IMO), because we often had 11 or 12 people that wanted to go out and that was too many for the 240.

With 12 on board, I didn't not notice much of a performance drop, but I also wasn't running WOT. We had 5 adults, 2 adult sized kids and 5 normal sized kids. Pulled skiers, tubes and boards no problem. Got on plane easy. I was impressed.

Thanks for clearing that up. It is misleading to publish and label their boats that way, they should consider removing that number. Even though a small one, it was one of the factors that lead us not to upgrade this year. We could definitely use the extra room as well. We have four kids, so right away we are 6 out of the 10 on our boat. So, it limits who we take with us.

Yeah..the 496 is great until you catch a glimpse of the fuel gauge actually moving when you are cruising:smt021
