I was unsure if it would be appropriate to post this but I decided it is for several reasons.

My parents were boating enthusiasts for many, many years. They loved to fish, slept most weekends on their boat in the marina after we were old enough to allow them the freedom to do that (there are 5 of us kids) and had some of the best times of their lives partying at the yacht club, cruising to different locations and the like.

I post this because I lost my Mother on Thursday and whenever I would bring up the "old days" on the boat she would always feel the joy that she remembered from her boating days. The only thing I regret is not being able to get her on my new boat before she passed but we, as a family, will scatter her ashes from my boat over waters that she had so much joy in. Mom was the glue of our family and will be missed by many people including a large family and group of fantastic friends.

My Father is alone now and I will be making it a point to get him on the water as much as possible so he can remember all of the good times boating brought to us. Boating is a way of life and a wonderful way to spend quality family time, make lasting friendships and create memories that are passed down for generations. Remember that the times you have boating now and in the future will create the wonderful memories you will share later in life with your loved ones...

I'm very sorry to hear that. I lost my Dad last May to cancer. I know how you feel. Yes, get your Dad out there. I was able to do that last April, even though he was wheelchair bound at that time. I hope that you were able to tell her whatever you needed to before she passed and that you and your family heal by sharing the stories and memories of your Mom.
We will be scattering my Dad's ashes in Puget sound this year.
I wish you the best.

Thanks for your kind words and best wishes to you and your family. I do feel lucky that her passing was very fast and we were all able to be there within hours of her being admitted to the hospital.

Ken very sorry for your loss. When the time is right get your dad out there for the day,. My heart and throughts are with you and your family

Ken

I am very sorry to hear it. Her love for you, and your love for Her, will never die.

My sis was a lover of the waters and we scattered her ashes at sea as well. I feel the pain you are going through and think it is awesome you are able to take dad out once in a while and talk good times. That will be with you forever. My condolences to you and your family...
