The "virus" What are your thoughts

I still think volatility is at hand. Not sure how things will progress for a while since
this is a new experience.
However I feel pretty comfortable that when it does come back and DT re-elected 30,000+ on the DOW easy mark.

Thinking more about this whole “memos being ignored by White House” issue.

Back last year, the President had a phone call with a foreign leader in some dinky country in Eastern Europe where he said something that made one person listening in feel uncomfortable. As a result, our intelligence & Inspector General apparatus found a way to alarm the entire country and get a president impeached.

So, these ass clowns are now expecting me to believe that they “sent a memo” to the White House sounding the alarm about a horrible virus that is about to infect and kill half the US population that was ignored. Their response to saving my and my loved ones lives was just to go on about their business! Where was the IG whistleblower and Adam Schiff’s secret meetings for this, if this really happened?

If, in fact, the intelligence community sent credible, specific, actionable information to the WH, which was ignored, and the intelligence community sat on their hands and did not sound the alarm, then I will be calling my Congressman and Senator demanding some Special Prosecutor be investigating the intelligence body for negligence.

Exactly. Every time Trump farts, it's leaked and an investigation takes place. This I am afraid is revisionist history.

That very well might be but the website has changed its verbiage...

The site no longer says that "some U.S. clinicians have reported anecdotally different hydroxychloroquine dosing" and both hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are "reportedly well-tolerated in COVID-19 patients." It also no longer says that both drugs "are currently recommended for treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in several countries."

Instead, the first line of the page now reads: "There are no drugs or other therapeutics approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to prevent or treat COVID-19." The page adds that "hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are under investigation in clinical trials."
 
It is times like these that make me loathe instant access to information. IE smart phones, social media, instant internet news feeds. If we were all just cruising around with our motorola star-tacs the world would be a much better place

The Chinese have suppressed/delayed information about the impact of the virus. That has been demonstrated and effectively proven. So I expect that they would highly likely suppress any statistics on their military and the impact.

What is a fact is that China being a communist nation, was able to lock things down and prevent travel to major cities. They may have started late, but they did it fast. People there do not have the same rights and freedoms as we do, and China has a long history of enforcing laws on its people and making up laws as they go along. They did not have debates about constitutional rights to assembly etc. like what is still going on in the US. People there do what they are told or face the consequences. In my view that is why they were able to slow it down so quickly. And they are probably under reporting cases, which seems to be a fact that is seems to be being proven out.

So why didn't Salon question those in charge at the CDC why the change was made? Notice instead of going to the source, instead they went to other news agencies and others not connected to the CDC for their "opinions".

Why? Because going to the source wouldn't have delivered the narrative they were seeking.

In this article, Dr. Ackerman says himself,
“Yes, these medications overall are really, really safe, so in that sense the president is right," Ackerman said. "But really safe in a population sense doesn't mean that drug is going to be safe enough for the particular patient I'm about to treat."
So...every doctor everywhere at all times for any prescription should review a specific patient’s medical history for potential ramifications and side effects. This use is no different.
I have never heard Trump say it definitely works and is a “cure”. I must have missed that press conference, if he did.

Thank you for the information, I had never heard of Salon before this morning... So, it certainly isn't a go-to source for me and you & I both have something in common with our dislike of FOX... Be Well & Stay Safe
 
This ought to get some juices flowing. I thought it is a pretty good analysis of how Trump is playing the media differently than Cuomo, but they are both playing it well in their own way. Its biased in view, but accurate in a lot of ways. I expect the really polarized on this site will not accept any of it, but for those that are open minded will find it an interesting commentary. Its not about "what" they are doing and does not criticize actions.
