Hi all!

I did a quick search but did not see anything specific so I will ask here.

We have a chance to go with some friends to Stuart FL for a vacation in April. What sort of things can one do boating and non boating related down there? I can tow the 260 down there if you guys think that gives me the best assortment of things to do. Our friends want to rent a house possibly with a dock on the ICW or canal.

We need some ideas for the kids too....4 and 7.

Any help would be appreciated. We love to fish and island hop but not sure what there is to do.

Thanks for any help.

It all depends how far you’d like to travel with your boat. When we trailered our boats (175 and 240) to FL, we stayed in Ft. Lauderdale and took the boat to each coast. If you don’t feel like covering so much distance by running around the state I’m sure there’s plenty to see just on East Coast around Stuart area.

April is a very good time of the year there. You might be able to hook up with some folks and do the Bahamas trip as a group. Just an idea.

I’m sure others will chime in with more details on local knowledge.

Thanks for the reply. We will need to pretty much play near Stuart or wherever we stay.

Our friends want to reduce the drive time by staying north of the Ft. Lauderdale area.

Thanks again.

We like Stuart it is a nice place with a lovely down town area. The hospital even has a dock if you need to get to the ER in a hurry.

There are several marinas and great restaurants. The highway runs through and around to the coast and I believe the Nordhavn dealer is located nearby.

We will be there on January 22nd thru 24th while enroute from Jacksonville to Key West. A really good marina is the Sunset Bay Marina and Anchorage with pretty good rates.

If you log into www.activecaptain.com and search Stuart they have a listing with reviews of all the marinas and anchorages.

Also google Stuart to research interesting "to do" things that show up.

Good luck and have fun.

Thanks guys.

Checked but I don't see many homes to rent with docks but maybe we will try a resort somewhere near Stuart.
