This summers gas prices....

Nope, hates oil. They have been calling it a finite resource for 100 years. Forcing a transition because of AOC and her ilk is damaging to our country and is now getting people killed.
I see. SO, about those policies? Got a list and enactment dates?

Indirectly related to fuel prices is natural gas pricing. My heating bill for February was 50% higher than for the same period last year. Cubic feet of gas used coincidentally was identical to last year. So purely inflation driven, likely due to policy decisions.

Cool. I feel ya. You have those policy decisions documented somehow? I have some time this weekend to do some reading. Would like to know what you know.

Allow me to introduce you to El Capitan. I think you will enjoy his company.

Well first of all, read the executive orders from 1/20/21 and shortly there after. Leases on federal lands were cancelled. The EPA also influences oil supplies by the stances they take, even if not documented. Domestic supply is down significantly, prior to COVID we were energy independent and net exporters. Now we are importing, which tightens global supply. Banks were "encouraged" not to lend to oil producers. It's subtle but it's there. Oil prices were on the up escalator before the Russian invasion. You won't find this in Rolling Stone or the Washington Post.

All those points are simply horrible, but they don't even come close in comparison to "the rest of the story".

Sure, we were energy independent, and now we're not. The worst part is that some of the oil we are now forced to import are coming from Russia!!! Sure, we imposed sanctions, but the oil importation wasn't one of them. Oil is a cash cow for Russia, and yet we continue to pay them for it.

That's for damn sure!

Today California reached its highest recorded price per gallon according to AAA.

Heard the other day on the news they are complaining about Trump using a personal email acct, etc and the violations involved. Seems Hillary did the same but MSM was fine with her doing it

I agree. It is unconscionable that we are still buying 500,000 barrels/day from Russia. Russia is our 2nd largest supplier. Companies are stepping in to fill the sanction void Biden left. Exxon Mobile among others are done there.

It is. Being childish about it in a boating forum rarely helps matters, is my point.

I was going to call you a 'new guy', but you've been here since 2016....

It's a boating forum and we talk about it all. Oil prices seems to get under your skin - perhaps you'd be happier with a hobby that doesn't burn so much of this 'finite resource'...

I’m not the one complaining about prices. Just the misinformation around them.

What makes you think that anyone else in office would bring the price of oil to $40 barrel? Enlighten me.

If I recall, gas was over $4.00 a gallon(I believe it was around $1.20 when he took office..) during the Bush presidency as well. It isn't largely impacted by who is sitting in the big chair. Nothing President Biden said last night is impacting gas prices today. It's simply not possible.

Stupidest post of the day…

Ahhh, I figured truth would be called "misinformation" at some point. Left leaning tactic. Just let us know how the price of oil came down between 1/20/2017 and 12/31/2019 please.

It appears your defending or at least making excuses for the rise in oil prices leading to our pain at the pump for some reason... this is the type of behavior an individual has to protect thier own interests. My best guess is you voted the current fool in who wants to bend over us Americans and your just making excuses to make yourself feel better. I could be wrong...

Hell, I thought we ran out in the 70s. That's what they told us, here we are 50 years later, still finding oil. I thinks we were lied to.

I can afford my fuel. So no complaints there.

enjoy the echo chamber you have here. Life is about more than the price of fuel and blaming it on on person so I’ll go back to lurking and reading.

cheers.

Pretty sure this is just one thread here and the majority of us can afford fuel just fine.

But thanks for being one of those useful idiots who put this administration in power...
