I would like to use my working transducer for my st60 (2000 380 da) and convert the info to NMEA2000, or whatever would work best. This is all a foreign language to me. Really trying to avoid drilling holes in the bottom of a boat, if possible.....

TIA

What is your transducer? Airmar? What are you trying to accomplish with the N2K signal?

This is pretty simple. I installed one, works like a champ. Axiom can calibrate your transducers from a few updates ago.

The other option is to replace your speed ,temp and depth transducer with a DST 810. This will install into the existing thru hull.

This is great info, Thank you

I was hoping there was something like this. Does the dst 810 just connect into the nmea2k network, and that is it? I have an older garmin currently that has nmea2k, but also plan to buy a newer model this winter

The DST 810 is solely NMEA 2000 and yes that is it. It is also BlueTooth with an app from Airmar even though Garmin is the parent company.

Least expensive that I have found https://www.boemarine.com/garmin-airmar-dst-810-smart-transducer-0-degree.html

Yes, the DST 810 plugs strait into the N2K network, and the newest version has Bluetooth for setting it up and I think you Get readings from it as well. The transducer fits in the existing thru hull.

The reason I have not upgraded to the DST 810 is the temperature probe on its predecessor (DST800) had a tendency to crap out, requiring replacement. I think this is a newer version, but haven’t researched this in a while.

Bennett (@bbwhitejr) is installing one in a couple weeks, so we should get some real world feedback soon.

Will you do it in the water, just pop one out and put the new one in? Makes me a little nervous!

Will be done in the water, but not just pull out and pop in. My OEM one is stuck in the housing and will not budge. I have a diver coming with a 1" wooden dowel about 12" long and a 2 lb hammer. He will tap up while I am inside pulling up. Once removed, then hopefully the new one pops in. I intend to give the diver a toilet plunger to place over the hole to minimize the amount of water that comes in. Based on dtfeld's experience, I do not believe these older models have the flapper valve in them, but is a straight hole. I will have the blanking plug greased and ready as well.

just so I understand, you guys are using this so you can keep the transducers but completely remove ST1?

I kept ST1 so the AP would connect to the n2k network

I am replacing because mine is shot. It will hook up to the n2k network and supply my garmin MFD and I will be installing a Raymarine i50.

I want to get the info on my Garmin MFD without having to fill and drill holes in my boat. Along with this i can clear off the space that my ST60 is located
