I saw the news conference in it’s entirety. His comments were taken out of context and the false narrative was pushed by some reporters in the room in misleading follow up questions.
Anyone dumb enough to drink Lysol after watching what he said and his exchanges with some reporters in the room immediately afterwards probably should be drinking something.

Certainly Pres Trump doesn’t make things easy for those of us that support him.
He is not a polished orator who practices pre-written, focus group cleared politi-speak statements meant to give reporters pre-written sound bites.
He obviously speaks from his insides.
If four of us were drinking beer on the tail of 40 footer in the evening talking about this virus, and one of you said, “Gee wouldn’t it be great if we could use some type of disinfectant to just clean us of this virus? Hand me another beer.”
I would not jump up and scream about injecting a dangerous chemical.
I know he is the President and what he says matters more than what I say. But I support him (even though I am an Independent politically) precisely because he talks like us.
Further, since when can we ONLY use a generic term like “disinfectant” to refer only to certain chemicals? Anything that destroys an infectious agent is a dis-infectant. As the doctor mentioned, in this case sunlight is a disinfectant. Our own antibodies are a disinfectant.
I am not reaching to defend his statement. He should have immediately clarified what he said. His fault. But I heard it and never thought for one instant he meant to go stick a needle of bleach in my arm. Certain people just look for any reason to criticize.
