Upgrade tracvision tv4 and maybe other models too.

Doesn’t work for me.
I don’t have DirectTV at home.
Only on the boat.
I have no wifi on the boat.
I was able to find my box listed on my AT&T account (Not the DirectTV app) but it just tells me that the receiver is not connected to the network.
That could be why I can’t control it.

I did have DirecTV at home so the boat receiver was just an "additional receiver" on the account. That's a possible difference. However, the boat receiver never had an internet connection of any kind (WiFi, cell, etc). The refresh signal is sent over the sat downlink, presumably as some sort of multicast signal with the targeted receiver id.

My problem is when the boat is in the boathouse for over 2 weeks I need to have them send a re-boot signal to my receiver. It's been this way the past 13 years. I pay these a**holes 12 months a year and have never suspended service in the winter when the boat is sitting there at least 5 months not being used. Here is the work around...

From my understanding the DC Block/Splitter and Destacker are only there to combine the over the air (OTA) broadcasting with the satellite signals. Then the tuner (DTV) will route all to the television. A better solution is to route the OTA coax (like from the Glomex amplifier) directly to the television antenna coax in and delete the splitter and destacker. Then run the M3 coax directly to the HR24 and HDMI from the HR24 to one of the television HDMI inputs. To watch OTA switch the television's input to Antenna or to watch DTV switch to HDMI. The good thing about this arrangement any television on the boat can simultaneously watch any OTA channel or whatever is tuned on the HR24.
Regarding the M3 - the LNB (the signal receiving device on the dish) is still compatible with the current Sat signals. The only thing on the KVH system that talks to the DTV receiver is the LNB. Now what the KVH dish control box is doing to that signal is anyone's guess.
Another thing is that you need to tinker with the dish settings in the HR24 to find a dish that is compatible and will work. Anyway you look at it is HD will not be available as the M3 cannot simultaneously look at all of the satellites.
I don't have the M3 but rather the DV3 Trackvision 4 which is really the same generation and it works fine...

You may have that ability as a home subscriber.
Unfortunately, it just indicates that my receiver is not connected to the network and nothing happens when I click on it.
Maybe they don’t give the option to refresh on your own to mobile only customers.

Interesting!
I don’t use my Glomex now.
I’ve got my M3 receiver system set up so it goes to all three TV’s but all must watch the same DirectTV channel.
Never bothered with a second option for any TV to watch OTA independently through Glomex instead of DirectTV.
Always figured I’d have to have some sort of A/B switch at each TV.
Basically, maintain the M3 system and the Glomex system independently. Run 2 coax cables (one from Glomex and the other from M3) to each TV going in to A/B switches, with a single coax coming out of that switch and in to the TV.
Is there a better way?

I can throw together a sketch on how I have my system arranged if you like. It works pretty good.

Thanks! That would be great!

Thank you. Wow! That’s an impressive system.
You’ve given me some great guidance.
I’ve got another project to add to the list.
While I don’t really care about having a DVD player, tying the TV’s in to my stereo, or having the ability to watch different Satellite channels on multiple TV’s at the same time, it would be really nice to have the option to switch between satellite and OTA on individual TV’s.
I’m still using the M10 box which doesn’t have any HDMI outputs.
Looks like I’ll have to swap it out for an HR24 box, pick up an HDMI splitter and some really long HDMI cables to run from the HR24 which will be behind the TV over the salon fridge, to the aft and master cabins.

Bill Collector, I was pointed to this thread by a member when I could not get my M1 to work tonight. I have the exact same problem as you that requires repeated restarts if I do not use the boat. Do to Covid I had to restart my Direct TV today since we had not been to the boat in a long time. I could not get it To restart tonight even though I have done it a million times.

I called Direct eight times getting the excuses you got. On the ninth call I explained I knew that Direct was discontinuing SD service if the service was interrupted for any reason. I explained I had always paid my bill so my receiver should still work. Ten seconds later the M1 was working. Coincidence, do not know but peace was restored.

Thank you... I have the M3.... They have ran me around the Merry go round for over 6 hours
