My "never cold" (norcold) fridge was giving me trouble last year, and finally kicked the bucket. I came arose this as a replacement Vitrifrigo Sea Steal DP2600IXAC. Dimensionally it is a perfect fit and slighty bigger cubic foot than what I had. Any feedback on this model, or company? Italian manufacture, and I could not find much on reviews.

I replaced with the same. Nice unit; no issues. Also bought from Defender two years ago; very good service. The Vitrifrigo has a deeper box than the Norcold; about one inch deeper. I like the separate freezer which eliminated the chronic frost and water issues the Norcold had.

Paul, I put the Vitrifrigo in last week and splashed today so Just turned it on, can't comment on performance. I went with the black DP2600IAC. Switching the door from right to left was straight forward, and install was perfect fit in the opening. The flanges are slightly narrower, so the new unit has to be perfectly centered in the opening in order to cover the nevercold's screw holes. There is no molding to cover the mounting flanges like on the old unit. The location of the compressor is such that I had to adjust the drain hoses for the sump box and bilge pump. The new fridge was hitting them and would not slide in all the way, no big deal. There is no bottom molding so I may put a piece of shoe down there to keep things from disappearing under there.

I replaced the Norcold on our 460 with the Vitrifrigo model with the same dimensions and we love it. It's actually a bit larger in total CF, it's quiet, has great door seals, and positive latches.

Any chance that the mounting flange is easily removed? I'm not looking to eliminate it, but i will run into a trim clearance problem with the flange.....once the fridge is in place, I can reinstall.

Harold - I agree, simple and yet a great feature to have a light. If this starts up and stays cold.......I'm a happy guy!!

Ordered, and will be installed Friday. Transporting from the truck to boat, it will be vertical (5 min max). Should I delay powering it up?

I've had the stainless 2600 for nearly two years. Overall I've been happy with it. It's a huge improvement for both size and performance over the Norcold.

Wait 1 hour after install to start, The molding at the top pulls off the cabinetry.(double end christmas trees)

Thanks Mark, I noticed the dimensions were slightly deeper than the old. I was thinking the AC might be a problem, but it sounds like the sump and bilge lines are the critical dimension.....interesting. what did you need to do, loosen and re adjust the lines? Or add a different thru hull fitting? Hmmm, so when my kids drop toy xyz, it will fall under the fridge ha, great! BTW I had no choice in color....Mrs PMC said stainless, so I went with stainless. I had to replace a perfectly good microwave / oven to match the finish.

Oh? It look like the boat was built around the fridge...does it pull down? We have different years, but I assume you have that same vinyl / leatherette material as trim

I had the DE0061 Norcold. It wasn't working very well. I bought he Vitrifrigo unit listed above. What a difference. It fit perfectly in the cut out. There were two issues we had to deal with. 1: reversing the door were a *****. 2: I was unable to use the bottom molding that came with the fridge. No big deal. It looks great. We love the extra space it provides and I have no idea when the thing runs. It's super quiet. It costs more than the Norcold, but in my opinion, worth the extra money.

Yes, bottom molding didn't work in the install. I thnk a piece of 3/8ths quarter round will keep blueberries, grapes and ???? from rolling underneath.

I purchased a Vitrifrigo at the beginning of last season and have been 100% elated with my purchase. The light is awesome. The Danfoss compressor is so quiet I cannot hear it run. Everything stays cold and cools off fast. I also purchased the flange which made it a direct replacement for my 330. No trimming or cutting. Went right in directly.

Easiest thing I've had to do so far.

We love ours, third season just starting. That slightly bigger makes a big differance also.

I replaced my cockpit ice maker with a unit made by this company. They sell them two different styles, one that gets connected to the boats fresh water supply,(your tank water). And then another unit that looks identical except it has its own water tank built in so you can make ice from good bottled water poured directly in to it.

Makes plenty of ice very fast as is almost silent.

Very good products

I bought mine in 2011. No issues at all. I also don't turn the fridge off in the winter. My SR270 Sundancer is still running now for 13 years. So my recommendation - leave it on. Overall, Great Fridge.
