wanted: new or used brain. low hour repo's ok

Ouch

lol awe, cut the kid some slack. When my sister was 15, she got into my Dad's can in the garage, put 'er in FWD and stomped on the gas. She took the front bumper off of my Mom's car and nearly pushed the lawnmower through the back wall.

Did essentially the same thing at 15. Tried to roll the car out of the garage to get my 3 wheeler (back when they still made them) out. Caught the car door on wall. Remember I was pushing it. Nothing major yet. Started car to pull forward, hit the gas by mistake, wiped out the 3 wheeler, my brothers street bike, a fridge and of course lots of damage to my dad's new Thunderbird. Bye bye 3-wheeler . . . :smt089

He needs to be tested for "performance reducing drugs"!

That s*cks, I'm afraid my 16yr old would do the same, that’s why I make her park in the driveway..

He must have been in a hurry to get to someplace  But he obviously forgot not only the garage door but the REAR VIEW MIRRORS?? But at least nobody got hurt!

Did the same think when I was his age. Rolled out of bed late for work and hit the garage opener and put it in reverse. No damage to the car, garage doors give pretty easy:thumbsup:.

Guess I wasn't fully awake yet.

He called my daughter at work to come pick him up and take him to school, according to her, he was definitely running late. My wife was on travel so he was just using her garage spot for 2 days. neat.

basically, he got the 'pissed-off-dad-look' and the "you're going to pay for this how?" speech but that's about the extent of it. I know I'm basically screwed here because when his grandmother hears about it she'll launch into all the stupid stuff I did and I won't have a leg to stand on.

At least he hasn't damaged the boat--yet. I was trailering my dads runabout when I was 17 or 18 and thought I'd pull into a used car lot to look around. backing the trailer up, I backed into a pole that raises and lowers to close the lot at night...sort of like a RR crossing arm. Of course it came crashing down on the boat. not good. then theres the time I dropped the keys in the water and my dad had to drive an hour to the lake and had to break the window out...or the time a ski rope wrapped around the prop and nearly sawed the back cushion in half...or the time I was pulling a skier and he fell and broke his arm, after the ambulance came, I was towing his boat home on the highway when I feel a tug and see a tire come bouncing by me--then his parents drove by on the way to the hospital. not a good day. sadly there are many more from where these came from.

Take some of them extra pillows you have and tape them to garage door . :smt043:smt043

Sorry, I couldn't help myself on that one.

I don’t share any of the stupid stuff I did with my kids, they would use it against me..

Reminds me of backing my Dad's 3 day old Simplicity garden tractor into a propane tank and crumpling the rear fender...or laying his Honda 650 down on a curve while waving at the neighbor girl mowing her yard...tore it all to hell.....or rolling our month old Honda 250 three wheeler down an embankment and putting a big dent in the gas tank....lucky I'm alive I guess.

Yet you grew up to own a 480DB? How did that happen?????

almost the same thing happened to us on Christmas when my wife was running me to the ER for kidney stones. Once i recovered i straightened the door in place with some blocks and clamps and bolted angle iron to it. Door still works fine and only a trained eye could tell.

I won't comment on all the stupid things I've done. I'm not even sure the statute of limitations has run out on some of them...

Glad everyone is OK. The garage door is a much better place for an accident than nearly any other place I can think of. Low speed, no personal injuries, private property, no police, no records, etc.

And it will be fun to bring up to him for years to come...especially when he has his own kids!

Not a huge deal...My wife still does that sh$t. It's almost a budget item, and it makes it easier for me to buy toys. If you're really mad, let him help pay for it.
