That's too bad. We used to watch the TV broadcast down there. Always wanted to actually attend but you know how that goes most of the time. Plus not being a high roller, I wouldn't have been able to attend the cool parties and all.

2/3 of the state is under severe weather warning today. My buddy in Lake Placid says it's pouring right now. Florida winter storms can be deadly with all the mobile home villages.

We are headed down around the holidays to the west coast. Started looking at temps, seems a little cool. Although last year there was a cold blast that lasted a couple of days.

You actually like the damn snow? The same snow that brings out the salt wagons? That make a road look like the Bonneville Salt Flats and rot out anything way prematurely that rolls on a highway or road? Wow.

Yup, the weather here does suck right now. Still, the optimist in me says it will pass in three days rather than three months. Ought to back to more tolerable by the end of the week.

I agree with that. As soon as there’s a forecast for a little snow they’re out spreading that nasty brine. It’s ridiculous. I think the auto manufacturers pay them to spread that crap on thick.

I'm happy as a clam (never understood that phrase ) with a green Christmas forecast in metro Detroit. Both my dog and I hate walking in it.

I agree. And the amount of salt(calcium chloride) dumped on the roads should be significantly reduced.

I'm about 18" from being out of piling height

setting my alarm for 1:00 am

high tide is 3:43 and the wind is beginning to shift, will be pushing more water into the harbor

Not complaining, but it's what we do here from time to time.

Was nice having the 10 meter on that lift, but I do so love the 450 !

about 6" over the docks from !:00am til about 6. Receding now. 3 months ago, this would have probably been a CAT 4.

I cant wait to see the Ravens/Jaguars game tonight. If it isnt cancelled. I have a friend from here that went there to see the game. Figured it would be a nice winter break. (although we havent had any winter yet). She said it sucks down there. But Jax isnt really Florida, its more like extended Georgia.

I sure wouldn't schedule a vacation in Florida from mid December til near the end of January because you can get pretty cold in central Florida and north. Unless you're going to be down for a month or two. A week is too iffy. Usually never get rain like this.

When Kansas played in the orange bowl in 08, Me my wife and son made the trip. Being florida, all i took was shorts and t-shirts and sandles. Well a damn cold front hit the day we got there. We bought some more clothes for the wife and son, but I toughed it out. No way was I going to wear a coat in florida, I even jumped in the ocean.
