So I think this thing is wired wrong. I tested L1 & L2 together and they cancelled each other to zero. Took your advice and removed the cover and it looks like it almost wired for 120/60hz. I appreciate your help! ALong with my neighbor who suggested testing l1 &l2 to see if it was indeed out of phase. That is for what they call a "6 stud generator" If yours has 12 studs then configure as -

Yes that is configured for 120 volt only. Easy fix.So I think this thing is wired wrong. I tested L1 & L2 together and they cancelled each other to zero. Call into broward armature in the morning. Think I know what has to go where but concerned about some of the additional wires connected to the same studs and if they should remain as is or be moved and I hope there is some play in their wires.
Can move line 1 and 2 easily enough with the jumper and the neutral with its jumperYes that is configured for 120 volt only. Easy fix.
I haven’t changed anything. Going to call broward in the morning but based on that diagram for the 12 post set up, I have to move each of the lines and jumpers where I drew on the photo.I'm not exactly sure how it worked in the first place for 240 volts if you put the two blacks and the white on the same posts you took them off of.
Too many things not adding up; I'm sure you will agree. You should check the generator's AC power circuit breaker and see if a jumper is installed across the two poles. That would have probably been installed by SR.
As that circuit breaker was not sent to Broward it will tell the original configuration story. As you probably know the 450DA could be ordered in either 120 Volt or 240 Volt configurations. Does your circuit breaker panel in the cabin say "240 VOLTS AC" on it? I think based upon what you said about the volt meter reading zero it does and there will not be a jumper across the generator's circuit breaker. The wiring diag's in the boat's owner's manual show both configurations including the terminations on the generator quite well.
