$3.99 for Mid Grade 89, Lake Chatuge North GA, last week.

(unleaded) About 3.65 in Tacoma, Wa. ...but paid 4.15 at Roche Harbor (San Jaun Island) on Friday.

Last week I used a $.20 discount Safeway had at a new fuel station. I pumped 52 gallons at $3.15 at the pump. Regular unleaded now is about $3.49 or so at the pumps

No Doubt..
Seeing the prices of gas across the country is pretty depressing. I hope this doesn't continue, otherwise I may be giving up the enjoyment of boating, which would not make me happy

Its because no one can afford the super unleaded and they need to get rid of it...

I picked up my new boat on Friday and had to fill up on the water at $4.25/gallon. About 40 minutes east at my marina I see them charging $3.87 a gallon. A .39cent difference is crazy!

Not sure what the gas on the lake is. So far, I filled the boat up before storage at a Mobil last year on the way home, and thats it.

Since we will trailer, I have 2 stations (one very convenient citgo, one a little out of the way, a Sunoco) to choose from.

My q is this...I plan on only super unleaded as thats what I always use in my cars and power equipment/quads/snowmobiles...I plan on the same for the boat, but the Ethanol is 10%. I know the engine manual says it can tolerate up to 10% ethanol. Am I better off gong to a station that does not have ethanol gas? Will it make a difference?

No that is pretty good, normal in this area is about $0.50 to $1.00 more on the water.

one station on my lake is 3.69 on land and 4.49 on water. Fuel comes from the same tank! Must be REALLY, REALLY expensive to run the fuel to the water......

There is only one fueling station on my parent's river. In discussions years ago, my parents had told me that the reason it is more money was because the boating stations are taxed differently because of environmental concerns, and as well, the marine grade hoses and baffles/valves and everything about it is more expensive. Also the upkeep of docks and insurance issues. Dont know if any of this is true, but it is a thought.

No doubt I am sure there is additional cost.... I just thought $.80 per gallon was a bit much, I should just be thankful I can still fill up on land.

Chuck both of those prices were on the water! Just about 40 minutes away from each other. I can accept land to water.

Sorry I miss read. I wonder if one had just filled their tanks and the other had not since late last year???

Illegal where I boat not to mention the gas at the street pumps can contain up to 10% alcohol which is very bad for boats.. It retains water and breaks down quicker from what I'm told. but that was from the owner of my marina who wants to sell me more of his gas:smt021:huh:
