What do you guys do with your sunpad on your 340?

Where do you guys store your sunpad? I have it in the AFT, but gets annoying looking at it and moving it. I was thinking of snapping it on the bow and making some kind of cover to cover it. Any of you ever do something like that?

I have put it on the bow when I put the boat in and then take it off when the boat comes out in the fall. Mine lasted pretty good till this past year. I would take it apart every fall and clean it inside and out. It is now getting mold growing through the vinyl so I am having a black sunbrella one made to match my canvas.

I keep it in the cockpit and place it on the helm seat so the admiral can see over the bow when we are running on plane.

We use it enough that we just keep it on all season. I take it off now and then to clean and let it breath but it goes right back on.

We're having a new lounger made now it fastens to the deck with straps and a sunbrella cover we'll leave it on all season now it was a pita to keep removing the old one that had no cover

I would need a good way to secure it while under way. I learned the hard way last season. It flew right over the windshield and in the water. It has 6 velcro straps that hold it to the rails on the bow. I was thinking of some sort of cover with snaps to go over it when not in use. It would have to snap in the front so wind doesn't get under it and blow it away.

Mine has snaps that snap around the bow rails. It has never gone anywhere.

Nothing close up and it is at the Upholstry shop getting the new Sunbrella cover made for it so I can't get any until it is done. Basically there are 2 flaps that come out the side of the sunpad. One goes over the rail and one goes under the rail. They snap together with 2 snaps on each set of flaps. Probably 6 flaps on each side of the sunpad.

Mine has a canvas cover over it that snaps down. Only had it out for the Sea trial but it was a miserable day with heavy rain, wind, and the sound was pretty choppy. We put the boat through it's paces and the canvas covering the bow cushion held fast in place.

Does anyone have dimensions of the custom cover they had made? I want something similar.

Mine has 4 straps on each side that loop over and under the rails and snap, as was described earlier. It can stay on all the time. I have noticed that when you're moving at a good clip, the leading edge will sometimes lift a little, and I worry sometimes that it's going to tear those first two loops, and then continue to the next set... I have thought about putting a couple of snaps along that leading edge, but I don't want to screw anything else in up there. No need to introduce more potential for moisture intrusion up there. When I had a couple of long runs last summer, and a lot of wind over the bow, I took a strong bungee cord and wrapped it around the rails at the leading edge to keep it from lifting when I was underway.

We keep ours on the bow unless we're leaving the D.C. area for a longer trip. In those cases we put it in the car and leave it at the marina. While it stays secure with the straps to the bow rails, it can catch the wind and flop a bit.

Last season we actually removed it before going to the Chesapeake Bay and left it off for the remainder of the season. We didn't really miss it.

No one has a picture to post?

I have an 07 320, and I think the sun pad is pretty similar. Mine is as described above, 2 pieces of vinyl with 2 snaps each, wrap above/below rail. I think there are 4 on each side. You can see the pieces wrapped around in the picture, but not the snaps.

I took mine home because I dont want to have to store it in the cabin, and leaving it on the bow will just make deck messy, and mold. let alone wear out the pad its self.

We don't use ours... We bring three square captain blue sunbrella cushions that fit tightly between the sunpad rails. We stow these cushions in the mid
