I am on diffrent fourms for my corvette and boatpittsburgh.com and all of them when you read them the first post is at the top and then you read down as others post then go to page 2 page 3 so on why do i have to start on the last page to figure out what is going on?

Why do I have to read through your question two or three times to figure out what you're saying? A few well placed commas or periods would go a long way to help.

However, I figured out what you meant... I think... You can set it up any way you want to. You need to go into your "User Control Panel" and select what way you want to view threads/posts.

You just need to change your settings like Dennis said. Most user use the new post feature.

Since you are new with 4 posts - Welcome. I think the default is set up with the newest first, so that one can view the posts they missed since their last visit easier. There are 341 pages in this Forum. I, for one, do not want to have to click "Last page" and then look backwards for new posts since my last visit.

I think it will be easier for you when you get caught up. Good luck with 341 pages of topics.

Wow. Cursing at a Sea Ray dealer/expert with 3,800 posts on your 5th post. How charming.

Just Me:huh:,but I visit this bad boy 4-6 times a day and I like the way the site is set up.

Maybe he's not hooked as some of us are, yet.

The left side of the orange bar at the top of each thread......"View first unread" will take you to the spot where you left off.

ps...I'm guessing that the OP's "5th post" was deleted. I'm also guessing he won't be back.

I have got used to it now , but at first its very very strange for sure ..

I am sure a lot of new members will come in and get lost and give up ..

I persevered as i am the tougher old generation

+1:thumbsup::thumbsup:

On my first couple posts I got a little wordy and had to back down a little. Let everyone get used to me posting and I took notes on how to approach different topics. It's not what you say as much as how you say it.

Once I learned a little more about the site, I believe my comments were taken more seriously.

PS...Spell check is a great tool

To the people who actually helped me and had actual advice or comments that where not Rude thank you..... To the guy who saids its charming for me to talk to a sea ray dealer like that.... I dont care how many post someone has I put my pants on in the morning the same way he does, That does not give him a right to put me down and insult me just cause he has 5,000+ posts. I am hear to read and learn more about Sea Ray and meet new people not get talked to like i am retarted for asking a question. If I upset anyone by that I am sorry, Maybe you should ask such a veteran of the board why he would talk to a new member like that?

Don't be so sensitive. This is a forum and it is made up of many different personalities. It did come off a little rough when you are new and question how the forum is set up. If you come in like that there are some that will pounce on the ooportunity.

PS: ALWAYS spellcheck when you are on a rant or taking someone to task. Messpellied words provides ammunition! Rarely do I see a friendly post with bad spelling get made fun of.

I never said you were retarded. I never even hinted that you were. Those are your words.

You asked a valid question (although, to be honest, a little homework on your own and you would have found the answer by simply exploring the site and the control options). But, the point is that you are asking for other people to expend their time in answering your question. The least you could do is make it easy to read. It doesn't have to be perfect - heaven knows my posts aren't.

It doesn't take much - just a little effort to make things coherent. If you don't take the time and effort to make a readable post, why do you expect anyone else to take the time to give you an answer? Seems a little one-sided, doesn't it?

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and still answered your question. You're new to this forum and I do welcome you aboard. All that's needed here is a little effort - nothing more.

Sometimes people just use 'tard for short... With your spelling, that would be 'tart and that means something completely different.

I agree completely. I got mostly A's and B's in school, but I got C's in English (Grammar, Writing Comp, etc), so trust me, I am no expert when it comes to writing. My spelling has always been pretty good though but is offset by my horrible typing skills. With that said, I think it is truly sad that an "average" person such as myself feels like a fricken genius when it comes to writing a coherent, structured sentence with somewhat proper (or at least existant) punctuation and spelling. Is it ignorance or laziness? Either way, it is sad to see. My 5th grader has better writing skills than most of the people I see on these forums. I have been an active member of internet forums (mostly automotive forums) since early 2007 and it never ceases to amaze me how illiterate many people are.

I am speaking generally and I am not singling out the OP here. I have seen far worse. But a simple proofread/spellcheck would go a long way. Just in this post alone, I went back and corrected a few typos before submitting the post. It really isn't that difficult. Most times when I read a nearly illegible post/question, I ignore it and simply move on to another thread.

Hell, even this damn thread title has a misspelled word in it. :smt009

What is wrong with the word fourm?

I think the point is that Dennis will have some Sea Ray knowledge because he is a dealer........Honestly, I don't think he even wears pants!

and you posted this in the general discussion when it should be posted in the suggestions or bugs section IMHO!
