Hey Stray, do you make your own venison Summer saus? Have you ever tried fermenting and drying it like a salami, etc? I can hook you up with starter culture, etc....GOOD STUFF.I just returned from a 4 day hunting trip....no cell phone, no computer, (no electricity)...first blizzard of the year (not the DQ type either!) and an 8 pointer for my freezer. Which means summer sausage and jalepeno pepper sticks for this boating season. Hunting will take me through mid January.
Can't even imagine the scenery My son took me to Seward AK. Camped and went on a boat tour it was the most beautiful area I have ever seen. Not to mention the animal life :wow:It may be cold in the winter but summers are warm. And when you go out the bays are empty. We feel crowded if more than three boats are in the same bay. Plus we got fish and no bugs. Even have cell and internet.
4 months ago:huh: where the heck do you liveI'm jealous. I ran down to my marina yesterday to stare at my boat in shrink wrap. Four months to go!!!!!!!
When my son was stationed at Elmendorf they would go to the some river in Anchorage and do Kamikaze fishing for King Salmon I believe. He showed me pictures of what looked like hundreds Fishermen almost shoulder to shoulder fishing. He said the most dangerous thing was the river would raise around 14' when the Tide came in .
