SiriusXM: Multiple subscriptions or use Bluetooth?

Get one subscription and go back to sirius and get the $5 a month deal for new additions. The deal lasts a year and at the end of the year if they won't renew a the $5 rate cancel just that one and in a few days they will renew it again for $5 as they don't want to lose you.I got 4 extra lines for $5 each, two trucks and two boats.I'm sure everyone can afford extra lines at $5 eack!

Is SiriusXM direct to the head unit through an XM tuner going to be higher quality than Bluetooth?

I only have the one subscription and use bluetooth a lot. But come summer I will probably do this.

I guess I'm the outlier. I have Sirius in 2 cars and the boat. It's $25 a month total or something like that, so I don't sweat it. I have a Fusion and find that the BT connection is hit and miss, having Sirius just works better.

That being said, I've almost abandoned Sirius for Pandora.

I also listen to Pandora as well. The free version, though.

I pay for way too many subscriptions - Sirius, Apple Music, Pandora. I don’t know if I could ever get off pandora because I’ve spent years building those stations, we use Apple Music for the on demand stuff and it’s on all family devices, and Sirius is best when I can’t pick something myself. I like Jam On, the dead channel, classic rewind, margaritaville, and no shoes.

Sirius gets the most use on the boat and on the patio during nice weather

Man your not lying, many hours invested in grooming Pandora channels. Could not agree more on the rest, except I use Spotify because I am an Android guy.

Android guy here as well.

Purchased SiriusSM yesterday, first impression: I have to listen to what they tell me to and why am I paying for all this "non music" stuff? I have Amazon Music that I love because I select the song/music. Sounds like Pandora may be a better option?

At one time, I had Sirius in four vehicles and on the boat... something like $1,000 a year. Got to where I could'nt stand the DJ's and their stupid comments (don't get me started on Kristine Stone!). Got rid of all Sirius subscriptions except in the wife's car and went to BT streaming Spotifiy. Never turning back.
I gotch ya! I have Sirius/XM in one vehicle and the plan allows me to stream also. In my old company car, I stream the "Bridge", "Yacht Rock" and "Rocks Top 1000" through my phone simply because there are no DJ's babbling at me. If I wanted DJ's I would simply keep the FM tuner selected....

I have Sirius in my cars. My subscriptions come with with the internet streaming too. I've tried to use the Sirius app in my car via Bluetooth. It sounds just fine but I find the XM app interface cumbersome to use when driving so I just use my car's radio.

On the boat I have a Fusion radio with bluetooth and stream using the XM app on my phone. We really don't listen to much music, and when we do it's at anchor so there's no concern about being distracted. Mostly it's yacht rock or a baseball game. My kids also have Spotify so we use that sometimes as well.

My point is, I would not invest in a Sirius XM receiver and subscription for my boat. We're in cell range and don't use it enough to pay more.

I had XM for years and finally bailed due to all the non-music. Why am I paying monthly when there is as much talk as there is music when I hit rush hour traffic? Their "popular country" station was the absolute worst. 5PM and they'd spend 10 minutes talking to people that would stop into their Nashville studio.

I have Apple Music and Amazon Music. Like 'em both. I enjoy the two times a year XM provides a free week or two of service - it reminds me of why I decided to stop paying for their service :)

Streaming XM using apple car play works really well vs trying to work it by the phone itself.

We use a starmate xm receiver with multiple car kits. Just move the same receiver (subscription) to whatever we are traveling in.

I did that and thought they said it was indefinitely…..Sometimes the customer service people are difficult to understand.

My SUV is 2009, my weekend driver is 2008. Both came with a head unit that supports SiriusXM. And both are paid for, I refuse to have a car payment. I used the radio ID for my SUV for the subscription since that's the one I drive more often.
