I have a 185 Sport 3.0. The engine is mounted at the transom and side mounts fastened to the bearers. The engine mounts seem a little soft and I was wondering for replacements but they are advertised by stud size and load weight. The stud size is 3/4" but I have not a clue of what the load...
Is it me or do forumnites (not just this one) just say whatever comes to mind.
My 3.0L air cleaner as with all is clearly showing the plug gap of 45thou (11.4mm) so why do folks try to say that the gap should be 30' or 35' or 40'?
Has the specs changed since the air cleaner info was printed?
I started to look to buy a carburettor rebuild kit for my Mercruiser 3.0L and I cannot believe how many are out there and the massive price difference to.
Okay I grab the idea that most are Chinese but no doubt the Quicksilver ones will be made in China like so much of their branded parts.
So...
Thank for the site address, I'm sure it will get plenty use even though I'm Mediterranean based.
I have the correct one, 3 port gasket for a 4 port manifold and riser.
Thanks, that would be my primary thought also except there 4 ports in both manifold and riser and my gasket has 3 aperture's, some 1, 2 or 4. But what denotes on which to fit?
Just curious:confused:
Thanks for taking the time to reply and I can understand the theory of restricted flow but what alludes me is the reason why. What are the reason behind these varying gaskets to block ports in different degrees. Do you think it's a temperature control, if so what would be the criteria to have...
Thank you for the interest but out of curiosity I would like to know why there is so many difference's in gaskets, i.e. 2 ports with holes, 3 ports, 4 ports, especially when all the manifolds and risers have 4 ports?
Hi, I have fitted a genuine Mercruiser manifold and a riser to my 3.0L and it came with a new gaskets. The manifold and riser has four water apertures in both but the gaskets that came with them individually only have 3. Is there a reason for this or is there gaskets out there with four slots...
I have just ploughed my way through all these threads and I must mention my observations.
You Yanks are quite savage and unforgiving towards someone who is wet/green behind the ears.
On the other hand the O.P. is far too sensitive but he doesn't have prior knowledge of how the pack operates and...
You are correct with your assumption and I appreciated your comments but if it's financially possible and can be done with ease I would be willing with the pain of regular checks of the heat exchanger.
Here in the Med they are telling me that a manifold and riser replacement is a 3-5 year event...
I am on with replacing my manifold and riser which has and is going to be used in sea water. This got me to wondering if anyone has converted to an indirect cooling system on 3.0L
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks guys, Here in the Med I am limited to what I can get out here and the cost to ship from the states and pay the import/sales taxes would be mind blowing.
I am certainly going to give it a try to seal the backs. Out here I have found a product called Plasti Dip which forms like a vinyl...
Hi guys
I'm a newby on here so hi to you all.
I have just bought a SR185 sport and it has a set of carpets but whatever the backing consists of is degrading badly.
It's a sort of black bitumen that has dried out which leaves black particles and dust all over.
The carpets are in very good...
