2003 260 Sundancer Chart/Depth Finder location

New to me 260. Replaced stock original Lowrance chart reader with a 9" Garmin. For starters I just went back into same mounting holes. Not a good angle plus behind windshield support. Hate to block compass but looks like I might have to. Where have others located your bigger chart plotters? Would love to see some pictures. Thanks

Here is mine. This was put in by the PO. It is a Lowrance HDS12

I installed one lower helm. It was not too bad to work with but you did have to look down. On the upside it was out of the sun.



You just need to watch the depth on any installs in this area as they need to clear the sliding door when open.

That area was never used as a "stock" location. In fact, I don't believe there was even "a" option for a chartplotter in that model

Your best bet is to use a RAM mount. Go their website - you'll see lots of examples. You need about a 3" (relatively) flat spot for mounting. The spot can be anywhere from horizontal to vertical - and can be in front of you or to the side - makes no difference.
